actually a new engine will cost 6 - 8k

can go malaysia and buy a 2L engine block, that'd surely boost your car to around 150bhp which will most definitely outrun any 1.6L non turbo car out there + you get to retain your 1.5L to swap back at any time

that'd be a better idea considering that your lancer chasis is built for a 2L engine block

don't know if the 1.5L and the 2L lancer share other components or not though

but personally i'd rather mod the lancer ex to look like an evo, for 2 - 3k it can be done + its legal and you still get to save all that precious fuel

if you add on turbo , the performance still doesnt match with a evo, as well sell away your car and get a evo better. less worry and more practical.

agreed with your saying

Is it possible to add Turbo to your engine? isit Legal?? i recently saw a video a USA man added Turbo to a Lancer EX GT

legal if u get LTA approval , first you need to get a letter from manafacture of turbo to state that it is Fit for use and safe for your car's make and model,

den you need to send to LTA for multiple testing , which may cost thousands ,

then you pay additional for road tax , insurance ,

then you are officially street legal . with that cost and trouble to get it street legal , its more convinient to just get a evo / wrx which packs a even greater punch , with great addons like bucket seats and stuffs, those dont come cheap if you're plannin on getting some original stuffs.

normally when you add a turbo , dont go and add bov, or some loud muffler ,striking stickers , too fierce looking. no Tp /lta will be so free to check your car , only prob is during inspection u gota remove the turbo, (morale : the more fierce your exterior looks , the more stock you have to be , to have a ease of heart driving on the roads)

there was an era when lots of impreza changed their engine added turbo and stuffs , till some smart asses went extreme overkill , bov , loud ( FAIL ) exhausts, so extreme that u can feel that you can attract LTA/ TP just by turning on ur engine ., den came the era of checking random imprezas that dont look stock. i,e no stock fins/ huge rims/ fierce stickers, and stuffs.and there you go.

just need a few buggers to spoil the market for them to bring the whole lot down.

if you add turbo kit, gotta upgrade exhaust, upgrade brakes, upgrade suspension...gonna cost a bomb. might be better off getting a stock turbo car. if cost is a concern, get a used one. still gives you the thrill yet don't have to be worried about getting caught.
