Pisces69 6th Gear December 8, 2013 Share December 8, 2013 ya, hope so. But maybe before they approved, almost all rides will come w drl lol. Tok about superbright n misaligned headlight, a number of taxis r guilty of that too. When see them in rear view mirror, I'll just flip up rear view mirror. Ya taxis r guilty for a reason. Ty adjust their headlights so ty can see customers at the side of the road better. All those other cars r just plain lazy or inconsiderate. Some buy cheepo bulbs which throw light all over the place but the drivers think their lights r damm chio. ↡ Advertisement

Earthboy 4th Gear December 12, 2013 Share December 12, 2013 DRL sui! but i dunno why not LTA approved. got diff on audi and merc and aftermaket? (other than it's factory fitted) i suspose those fitted by factory comply to regulatory standard. most ws dont and they are either too garing or angle not correct causing hazard. another thing is that aftermarkt fitting is at best an afterthought and 99% of the time dont integrate well with the car design make the car looks ugly (some looks too cheap). most of them looks like the 2 rabbit teeth if you know what i mean. <snip> There r drivers who r so desperate to attract attention to their cars, ty wil do all sorts of stupid things to stand out. Unfortunately some of these mods r just plain dangerous to others on the road. some really over do. looks like those 大爷伯 car. blue light especially. Earthboy 4th Gear December 12, 2013 Share December 12, 2013 just don't let them see the switch, tell them its from previous owner and its faulty. I think that is why SG need so many foreign talent. the inspector so brainless?

Keithchue 5th Gear December 13, 2013 Share December 13, 2013 DRL sud b wired to a source which wil b live once u switch on the engine. U can tap electricity from something like the ciggy lighter fuse etc. But the difficult part is to get it to go off once u switch on the headlight cos DRL sud go off at night cos ty r too bright n glaring. Oh n FYI aftermarket DRL is not LTA approved hor. Now fog lights can b fitted aftermarket but must hv recognised marking like EU etc n ty must b placed as per LTA specs for fog lights. Also the bulbs cannot b upgraded to higher wattage. And yellow fog lights r not allowed here. maybe I'm wrong, but I have yellow foggies installed on my bumper factory stock. Pisces69 6th Gear December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 maybe I'm wrong, but I have yellow foggies installed on my bumper factory stock. If yr car is quite old, maybe possible cos in the beginning, foggies were allowed to b yellow then later ty only approve white. But real foggies sud b yellow cos yellow cuts tru fog much better than white.

But real foggies sud b yellow cos yellow cuts tru fog much better than white. Yes, exactly. Fog lights should be yellow, cos only yellow can shine thru fog. I knew this when driving in Genting Highlands in heavy fog many years ago...couldn't see anything in front at all, but once on the yellow fog lights, I could almost drive thru normally. Those extra lights below our car headlights are just another bright light nia....not real fog lights.

Maseratigood 5th Gear December 16, 2013 Share December 16, 2013 For what reason you need a fog light to shine at 270 degrees such wide angle leh ? Those extra lights below our car headlights are just another bright light nia....not real fog lights. At first LTA allow Yellow. But then many pple switch them on even in clear weather which cause some SG drivers to get confused. Some drivers even put brighter bulbs or modify their foggies to spot lights. Then only white were allowed. Many SG drivers just behave like small kids so LTA hv to b super strict in many areas. I only hope they also sell frog lights which can shine 270 deg!!! Where got sell them? U can try the frog shop. For what reason you need a fog light to shine at 270 degrees such wide angle leh ? He looking for FROG lights. These to shine at parked cars at Mt Faber etc so he can peep at what the pple r doing inside. i kena saman for $50 for install the DRL to my subaru ride. Hmmmmm........So TP actually quite strict on these ah.

Paddie 3rd Gear December 17, 2013 Share December 17, 2013 It's not so much yellow or white, but the throw of the beam. A good fog light design will project the beam low and underneath the fog. There are many HID or LED fog lamps which work very well.
Pisces69 6th Gear December 17, 2013 Share December 17, 2013 mine is less than 1 yr old. still on yellow foggies. Yellow foggies were not allowed many years back. If yrs is yellow, Its illegal. U cud hv problems with TP. Now only white foggies r approved. Even u go Inspection, ty might ask u to change. Some is just a yellow plastic film stuck on the lens or ty use a yellow bulb. It's not so much yellow or white, but the throw of the beam. A good fog light design will project the beam low and underneath the fog. There are many HID or LED fog lamps which work very well. Yes. Thats why foggies r placed low down. Its to throw the light below the fog n light up the road markings n sides of the road.
