13177 Hypersonic April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 From the pic, the red and the white looks not bad. But the name in the pic still called avante? Thought they have adopt the name as elantra?
Cat 3rd Gear April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 Only Komoco can answer this question lol, for my guessing, the avante std version cost $79,999 and Elantra can cost $83,999 respectively, which is more or less the same feature.
13177 Hypersonic April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 You mean kmc is selling 2 different name? Avante & Elantra?
Cat 3rd Gear April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 Feel Sorry Bro, I am only guessing-lah, kmc can answer your question, why don't give them a call and let us know, ok Just joking with u, actually from what i know, they called New Avante (std) when they still didn't receives enough information, like what kind of features will be in S'pore market, but now they are very sure of the feature already, and they have a very nice catague also, only with limited copies. The early bird booking, is just a test on market respond. When they know the respond is good, all the early bird(s), will have to top up lol or get a refund of the booking fee, which is not bcos of the coe. 13177 Hypersonic April 9, 2011 Share April 9, 2011 I think it is still better to wait for the new avante to be in the market for 1-2 yrs before buying.

Pink123 Neutral Newbie April 10, 2011 Share April 10, 2011 I can only say they are not doing business honestly, how can they request those early bird booking to further topup... Last week i got the news from one SE, he told me they only bring in 2 models - basic & higher spec models, for higher spec selling at 89k. OMV for basic is ~11k, high spec ~14k. SE told me their boss said for those choose higher spec model surely will get the COE, while those choose basic model (especially those early bird booking) will have to wait for COE price drops... So that end up, we got only one choice left... I think the car doesn't worth 89k for OMV only 14k, total mark-up ~17%. Chevy cruze 2011 model, OMV ~13k and ppl only selling at 82k, comes with most of the higher spec that the SE mentioned for Avante 2011 higher spec... If they continue to mark-up the price, i think this new model will end up like i45 destiny, only HOT in forum but less will be seen on the road... P/S: the showcar that coming soon to showroom next week will be left hand drive version, so can only see, no test drive... For those interested to go down, you can double check with them before going down...

But the features are much better than the Cruze. eg. sunroof, keyless entry etc. Protection wise I'm not sure as cruze has quite a heavy chassis. thanks! shall head down to komoco next week then! very excited about the new elantra! Abachee 2nd Gear April 10, 2011 Share April 10, 2011 Bro, Did you check with the SE is the new Elantra (Avante) comes with the GDI engine or the old engine of the current Avante? If it comes with the old engine, then I find that the new Elantra is not worth the $$ for a new car. Cos both US and Korea model comes with the new GDI engine that comes with 138BHP.
