Sun Shades provide an extra layer of privacy, especially the front as its regulated by LTA how much light solar films on front windows must allow in. Its also detachable so no problems with inspection etc.

As for 3rd Party TPMS, I'm sure most would have a display.Don't think you can easily integrate 3rd Party gadgets into stock HU.

Whole car sun shades huh? What are you doing inside?

I think the recent weather with the penetrating heat will be a good test to the solar film provided by MI.  Obviously privacy is a good reason to use sun shades since the best grade of solar film can't help with that.

From the latest 2016 Outback Reference Manual, there is an icon on the instrument panel for "Tire Pressure Warning Light".

Any owners out there taking delivery end April?

Bro,

When you collecting yours? Join us in the shades group buy?

SE said car just arrived, now doing "allocation" and need to get all the accessories confirmed (e.g. dashcam, etc) so they can start to install everything.  Aiming for end April or early May delivery.  Dark Blue Pearl.

Plan to live with the solar film for now, or else get something better later.  Perhaps will take a look at your shades once installed.  I doubt there will be significant saving on group buy (still just a few owners only).

Any PPS to recommend?  That's something I have no clue at all.

PPS many options and probably same same. MI also have in house PPS.You probably got to do your own research via posts.

More importantly do it ASAP after getting your car.

Heard one Bro spend $3K on PPS. That's a lot of layers... Work within your Budget.

emmerich, add me into the group buy...

Dear all outback owners and owners to be,

I am thinking of complementing the solar film from MI with the Laser Shade http://hcgroup.com.sg/Laser_Shades.html.

Contacted the seller and was quoted 7 pieces set including rear windscreen for $250.

Let me know if you are interested and maybe we could go for a group buy.

Thanks to Ben Tong for the idea.

You are right. The SE say not possible.

Seems like not possible to upgrade solar film with MI

I'll leave the stock solar film on and get the laser shades.

Which PPS did you take up? Ok to share? You have PM...

Think so too. Actually a bro from the forester posted the specs for the solar film installed by MI.

VLT - LTA compliant
UVR -99%
IRR - front 55 % back 66%

I Am ok with this specs. Coz if air con will take car of heat.. And I don't drive without air con middays.

May put a high high spec film for the sunroof ($100).

Money saved about $400-500. Can use it to for other poison.

PPS - think all almost the same. But suggest get it done asap. Mostly 3 layers. May go for 5 layers.

Now trying to figure whether to install Blackvue at MI or get Thinkware outside

emmerich, could you add me to the group purchase of the laser shades? Likely to collect my ride in May based on the next round of shipment. Unsure if the Japan quake could likely delay the shipment.
