In Aussie maybe but also quite difficult, Aussie Fixed Deposit 6%, so 400k make 24k per yr or $2000 per mth. Hard and it's unlikely can survive for long. Roh96 6th Gear March 31, 2011 Share March 31, 2011 If you have no loan(house fully paid) plus willing to give up luxury items like car, tour, fine dining etc... i think it is possible to retire with 400k if you remain single all the way. Importantly u need to be covered sufficiently with medical insurance so that any illness will not suck your $$ dry dry. Assuming $20 per day to cover food and public transport, 400K can actually last you >50 yrs. So theoritically it should be workable. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
