Ahtong 1st Gear April 8, 2011 Author Share April 8, 2011 Basically this 43 year old construction worker got stung by a mosquito and died of dengue after 5 days. His wife, son and 2 niece rushed down from China. Their demands for compensation went from $100k to $500k to $600k. Unless they are compensated, they refuse to cremate the body. According to the employer, he had ferried the family to the PRC embassy and MOM but the family accused him of ill treating the deceased by not providing proper accomodations. They know they will get what they asked for. Why not ask for more...and then settle on partial settlement? Ask for $100k maybe get $30k. Ask for $600k...maybe can get $100k eventually.
