Nolicense Turbocharged April 27, 2011 Share April 27, 2011 voting is not compulsory lah... if don't vote, your name is struck off the rolls register? then next time you want to vote must reapply to include your name. and must give reason why u didn't vote the last time. Oh.. I always thought voting is compulsory unless one can prove that he/she is at overseas at that election date. All other reasons given will not be accepted as he/she choose not to vote. That's my understanding..
Nolicense Turbocharged April 27, 2011 Share April 27, 2011 if you don't have a good reason, they may not insert your name back in the rolls. if overseas, that's a valid reason. if in ICU or hospital, also valid.

So voting is compulsory. [;)]

Hondacub777 6th Gear April 27, 2011 Author Share April 27, 2011 Voting is Compulsory. In singapore only?Coz like taiwan or US,its like optional.
Nolicense Turbocharged April 27, 2011 Share April 27, 2011 (edited) In singapore only?Coz like taiwan or US,its like optional. in US if you don't vote, your name will still be in the rolls. next election, you can still go and vote. Here they strike your name off and you cannot vote again.. so what is optional and what is compulsory??? its more like one is a privilege to vote and one is a right to vote. you can take away a privilege but you cannot take away a right. Hypermiler 1st Gear April 29, 2011 Share April 29, 2011 of cos say compulsory.. if don't vote will fine? go jail? they will strike your name off.. so you cannot vote next time... is it still compulsory? compulsory means they will fine you or jail you.. and the next election, you must still vote... If you default, your name will be struck off the list. Should you want to vote again in future, you need a valid reason. Otherwise you pay a $50 fine before you can have your name re-instated.
