So far, I haven't seen a convincing PAP new candidate. When Ah Long said cannot find good enough candidates, maybe he meant they don't know where to look? When Lau Lee said the overnight MP (don't remember his name), is good, so & so, & he is president scholar & straight A, you must question they selected best student or best candidate? I don't even put my school results in my resume anymore. If I am to put my academic result, or tell the interviewer about it, I know I sux during my years of working, & still need to use education achievement to land a job. Acemundo Supercharged May 10, 2012 Share May 10, 2012 (edited) WP has confirmed Png Eng Huat will be the candidate... don't know much about him... probably the media will provide more insight over the next couple of days... is this guy a Teochew??? nope he is hokkien. frankly speaking, whilst speakign the majority's dialect would have been an advantage in the last few GE, in today's world i think it is not a must. nowadays our citizens command of dialect already very weak especially those that are below age 35. i dare say 50% of the voters in hougang may not even know how to speak teochew. compare that to when LTK started in 80s, the % of teochew speaking voters in hougang maybe as high as 75%. the importance of teochew speaking is overhyped.
