Visited RM about a month ago. They claimed this mondeo is targeting the likes of 3 series, passat, s60 etc conti. They like never intend to compete with jap saloons like camry or teana etc.

So maybe cos of that they price mondeo above the Jap models bah.

Yes, the toyota model that they competiting with is IS250. But then Mondeo OMV is about $25k plus, same as Camry. But feature wise it can't overwhelm the Camry.

They dreamed that they are superior American car, but look at their sales, way-way behind Toyota, BMW, Audi, Volvo, Passat and Merc.

If nothing is being done, comes Camry 2012, Mondeo will be further relegated.

Performance alone doesn't mean that poeple will buy, we buy becos of pricing, features, badge, performance and sometimes the sales person.

The drive is indeed good, but agreed with you that performance alone cannot sell well in SG.

Singapore is such a small market that Ford can't really be bothered with.... Mondeo's main market is Europe; and it's marketed as a family saloon n not junior executive...

saw from straits times yesterday

Usually, this is the last facelift of the car...they add spoilers, grill & rims to make the car like new model....anyway,.Camry already lost to Kia K5,due to the dated tranmission & equipment

Looking at the fog light area, seems to be like the E90 3 series.

Hopefully the interior wont be so disappointing like ah pek. Can have options for black interior and less wood/ plastic feeling.

Not really. The 2.5V6 Camry is only available in the USA.

The next best thing is to have the Mark X 2.5V6 available on the next Camry.

If same platform as the Mark X then rear wheel drive; the rear leg room will be small liao.. [:(]

The current Camry is a pretty darn good car already. The next best thing is to have Lexus-like refinement.

Darn good car? -_-

- 2.0L no power (4 speed, if I not wrong)

- No black interior

- Boring odometer

- No sunroof option

Only good things are spacious and exterior look above average! [laugh]
