Richard_Peh 1st Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 Hi MCF bros, i having problem with my car hand brake indicator. The (!) signal never light up when i pull my handbrake. Is it due to my fuse blown? Can anyone advise? ↡ Advertisement
Colin03 4th Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 just drive to the nearest workshop. Change of fuse is a small matter and hope not the led in the display panel as the labour will be expensive.
Tayspiderx 3rd Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 Yes the labor can be expensive. My ws recommend not to repair the bulb. Just feel for the tension when pulling hand brake, else ask your ws to fasten hand brake line during checks.
Blackaccent 2nd Gear October 6, 2011 Share October 6, 2011 Maybe can ask workshop to check the switch activating the light. For old cars, usually located inside the handbrake console, new cars I dunno if still the same.

SimonTan 2nd Gear October 7, 2011 Share October 7, 2011 Anyone knows how can I make my Honda jazz handbrake more grippy. Currently, the handbrake only can hold a stationary car from rolling. I wish to enhance the handbrake, so that the rear wheel can stop a moving car from say 40km/hr to a stop, without using the foot brake. How can I modify the handbrake? I tried pulling hard, while the gear is in neutral and car coasting at 40km/hr, the handbrake just does not have to bite to even slow down the car. What should I change to make the brake more grippy? I there a proportional ratchet mechanism to amplify the gripping force? Or change different brake pad? ↡ Advertisement
