Good point there. i think mazda buyers are not overtly concerned about the resale value, f.c etc as compared to other jap car owners it's a natural progression for mazda owners to move on to BMWs etc. this is quite common especially so for the higher-end models 5, 6, 7, 8 ,9

karsono Kwee is experienced in this business and probably realize that as mazda prices are generally higher amongst the jap/koreans,

people who still choose a mazda usually have deeper pockets and will not be deterred by the price. this will eventually be the target group of mr kwee

Frankly I never thought that I would change Mazda for a Conti car when I bought Mazda last year. I was always happy with MIJ cars and have been trying one from that lot ll the time. But, this time, becasue of COE and Confusion over Mazda dealership, I settled down with BMW. Mazda registered only 6 cars last month and let is see if Mazda fans are going to continue to buy them.

Oh really? Where is your source of data that indicates that most Mazda owner changed to a Beemer? Becos Steptronic wanted to upgrade to one in future? I used to owned a Mazda so does many friends but not all have deep pockets as a matter of fact. I have friend who changed his Mz3 2.0 to a 1.5l car becos the small cc car gives him more satisfaction when driving.

Objectively, I have no issue in Mazda or TransEuroKars pricing themselves out of the market based on the current COE trend. And I have nothing against Mazda owners too as some friends still driving one.

However many are being forced to upgrade to a higher priced car becos they have higher margin to absorb the lack of resale price of Mazda cars here (a matter of fact) or some friends just went for a 2nd hand car. Even Mitsubishi got to face the music of downgrading their showroom although their resale value is higher.

Nevertheless back to the main subject of increasing price. As a biz man who is rich, he can afford to take over and try his luck just like his venture with Saab and Opel. It is a toy to him and he may have bought the Mazda dealership at a cut. Let's see the vehicle statistics come November next year and see if he is that acute in his biz sense.

Well...buyers usually picks the better among the rotten. Just like fruits. I pick the rotten one for my first car becos I am ignorant and regretted it afterward.

You made a good choice based on pragmatic reason. I am irrational and opt for a TCed Jap car instead. Haha...
