i personally think mobile is better. its at your door step, but the probelm is need to find a good groomer. you guys might wanna try this mobile groomer ?

try calling him at 97754673, his pricing starting from small car is $78.

wash, remove scratches, polish, wax(tyre also), rain repellent on all glass, vacuum clean and wax interior and free top up wiper water. very detailed and good service. and all are expensive branded products , most important all by HAND no machine.

Why no machine? Machine should be better for removing defects. By hand DIY better.

My recent new car was groomed by the Permanon team (under Beacon Enterprise). In fact, one of my friends did his first before mine on his wedding car, and he was impressed with the water beading effect.

Permanon from Germany

It works as a quick detailer product. $60 for 100ml. 10% concentration wipe-on class sealant with SiCl4 particles. Durability is rated for 6 months (biodegradable). Hardness factor is not determined at this point in time.

It requires the use of a protective maintenance shampoo, $12 for 120ml. It is actually similar to the rinse-less shampoo. Application is as simple as other quick detailing products wipe-on or blower technique.

Shelf life: 1-2 years sealed. 1 month if exposed.

Tantacoat from US

A hybrid between Pernamon and other glass coating. It is made up of a nano silicon particle and silicon resin. Spray and wipe on application. Hardness factor is 7 but likely to be lesser e.g. 4-5. Durability is 6-12 months. US$16 for 116ml. Sealant class of 'coating'.

Shelf life: 1-2 years sealed. 1 month if exposed.

System X from US

Ceramic glass semi-permanent coating. US$38 for 112ml with 200ml pre-cleaner. Wipe on application with flashing. Rated for 2 years or more. Hardness suspected to be 7-8. As this is not a sealant class of product, it does away with protective shampoo. Layering is possible. Not available in Singapore. Other Japanese glass coating product will belong to this category. Typical cure time of 12 hours.

Shelf life: 1-2 years sealed. 2 weeks if exposed.

Duragloss Nanoglass

Similar to System X, see above. SGD42 for 110ml. Close fight with System X. Available in Singapore.

Shelf life: NA

Opticoat 2.0

The closest competitor to System X. Hardness 9. Wipe on application with flashing. Polymeric semi-permanent coating. This is not a sealant class of product. SGD$85 for 20ml. Available in Singapore.

Shelf life: NA

UV light cured coating

Generally not available in Singapore. Widespread in Germany/United States. Usually for marine RV applications. They are not sealant class of product with 7-8 hardness. Semi permanent polymeric coating.

Shelf life: 1-3 years, sealed or exposed (not UV light)

Other coating used by detailer shops will fall into the above category. Country of origin are usually Japan, Germany or United States. Other coatings CQuartz are not mentioned because they fall into one of the category above. Of the whole lot, currently the UV activated coating have higher durability up to 4-5 years.

1k Acrylic clear coat e.g. Dupont

Acrylic clear coat, spray on 'clearcoat' with hardness 7-8. Available in aerosol or spray application. Durability 1-2 years. Dupont brand aerosol form factor unavailable in Singapore.

Shelf life: 1-2 years. 3-6 month if exposed

2k Polyurthethane clearcoat

The industry standard (meaning not cutting edge) 2 component spray. Rated for 5 years hardness 9. Tends to soften with time in Singapore climate. Hardness degrade with time. Application requires work shop spray gun assembly. Aerosol form factor available in Germany/US only.

Shelf life: 1 day when mixed.

took up a groupon package for KND Groomerz..totally disappointed and pissed. Was one of the earlier birds who book an booking and when it comes to the actual day..sms and calls to confirm the booking with groomerz were totally unresponsive.

I only receive a sms reply conveniently saying that my booking was overlooked and to reschedule for another booking which comes only 1 month later.

Best part was, the second booking was also overlooked.

Needless to say, I emailed groupon and complained about this grooming company..I was given the refunds via groupon credits in approx 3 weeks time.

Bottomline, never to sign up with KND Groomerz..we should spend our money in other recommended mobile grooming companies which gives better service!

I use this mobile groomer call autocleanz. 2 young local chap. They usually do part time, so can only work either evening or weekends, public holiday. Not exactly cheap, about 120 for a small car but quality of work is good. They use auto polisher. Being using their grooming service for years. However, your car park must have power point. They don't have generator. I saw their work on BMW SG forum and was impressed by their workmanship. So far never disappoint.

The guy name is Mark. 9862 2254.
