And Sabbie will be the referee I guess?

Badder is typically outnumbered. [:p]

Should grant Badder a biased referee like Rubberstamp. [rolleyes]

he was given a scholarship?

he was "provided" a job?

you do get that only a tiny % of students get scholarships right?

you do get that WE benefit from them working here right?

...no of course you dont get that

The above is factually misleading.

[thumbsdown]

I will give you a clue: it is called Tuition Grant Scheme (for foreigners which requires no merit like scholarships)

I think there is nothing wrong with what that china guy said... after all, with so many local students... very, very high probability that one local student will score lowest grade, right? This is just a matter of probabilities.

On the other hand, 15 years after graduating, who cares about exam scores?? Who earns more, is more important! [laugh]

FT more intelligent why need to come to Singapore to work as FT?

...um because we pay them..???

where Singapore is built by Singaporeans

Singapore is an immigrant country (like the us) so the (FTs of their day) built singapore.

If you want to answer "who physically built singapore"? then pedantically speaking it was probably the Indians.

The debate is not "are there schemes". the debate is the suggestion that a significant number of foreign students are on a grant.

unless you can show the ratio of how many FS we have in total and how many we have on a grant its purely guesswork and assumption.

In other words it BS unless you have the data. I like data - show me the data otherwise its just an a--umption

That scheme is a way to get talent (our and overseas) to be bound to us after graduating - it stops the "brain drain" and ties foreign students to us. In that respect its hardly FREE and clearly we do GAIN from every FS who is awarded it

The difference:- our forefathers converted the jungle-island into ia modern city thru sheer hard work, modern days Fts are being served relatively speaking
