if buy basic model like 520/528 ... straight go to PML no need to look back. the saving is not worth it when you compare specs to specs

unless you go bone stock PI model ... no navigation, no fancy electric stuff, no LED headlight, etc

when you bring PML specs to PI to match ... i guess the saving is probably low $10K+ (not worth it for the risk and hassle in the future)

if buy high end model like 535 full specs then can consider PI because PML charge a premium for 535 in view deep pocket potential buyer

520/528 is the bread and butter for 5-series which is considered base model. PML is generous in term of giving discounts and overtrade as they want the sales volume and market. stiff competition from merc and audi.

My E60 going end of life in Nov'14. Anyone letting go their 2010 F10 523i (PI or PML) do let me know, but I don't buy at used car dealers inflated price, prefer a direct buyer< >seller deal. The first batch just hit 4yrs mark.

One of my reservist pal gotten a 3yrs old Z4 at $130k from his friend.. Lucky chap

Just came back from my very 1st KL trip on the NSE, can feel my old bimmer very stable even at up to 180km/h. Having plans to swerve to 3 pointed star end of the year, having 2nd thoughts now

I suggest not to buy BMW. BMW good looking but not durable. Once broken , thats alots of money to repair.

Dude, seriously no offense but do you even drive/own one before making this comment? Or is it another hearsay? Plus, got money to buy BMW and yet claim that it is expensive to repair/ service it? I mean come on, before you even commit to a car, you will know its cost of ownership, no?

Not so bad lah. I just clocked 800km from SG-> KL->Genting->SG over the long weekend on my 9.5yrs old E60 clock average 150km/h up to 180km/h. Car still in 1 pc, never breakdown. The most expensive repair i did was $1.2k for the active steering rack and $800 compressor the past 4.5 yrs

I don't open workshop so yeah i don't know how much it costs to replace a gearbox for that particular vehicle until i owned it and problem come and i know the costs. And whatever parts is going to break down in future , who knows? Some people drive , water hose burst , aircon faulty. some people drive only change tyres. And got money buy , doesn't mean that we can't claim that is expensive? Those people who claim that repairs are not expensive. Is either you got too much money to throw or you don't pay for your own repair? Golden spoon i guess. And yeah i owned before.

Someone's getting all personal here..Got money to fix car automatically becomes either too rich or golden spoon( silver spoon in fact), talk about generalisation. Plus since you said it, you drove a BMW, then obviously you should expect BMW price for parts too. Plus changing of gearbox are all going to be rather expensive in the first place, doesn't matter asian make or conti or even american. N plus, u said it yourself, some ppl drive this faulty that faulty and some don't have all these problems. Maybe this really is the difference of how you take care of your car. Plus from what you said in other threads, it's kinda obvious you bought a used car, which do you even know the full history of it before committing??

Victim of SG vehicles. Bought a car this year. Selling tactics are superb. Once signed you realized the promises are empty.

Took delivery of car. Broke down in the 2nd month and it took them a month to fix it! Their associated workshop is hopeless. Pushing blame here and there.

Please don't go near them( not even with a 10 foot pole).

Actually under the Lemon Law I can bring them to court and get the entire refund on the purchase.

Lemon law is not bringing them to court. Unless you want to sue them at your own capacity. They will have their lawyer to handle it anyways.

Lemon law only let you make claims from them when the authorized workshop fails to rectify your issues and you bring your car to other workshops for repairs, get the invoice and submit forms to small claim tribunal. The claims are only up to $10K. Anything more it's better you get your lawyer to settle with them. But most ppl do not do that as it takes up too much of their time and lawyer fees.

Once the car is registered to your name there's no "entire refund" on the purchase. LTA doesn't allow any changes even if you insist or otherwise. Dealer will laugh at you and tell you not possible. So dun say these things and make a fool of yourself. They will know that you dunno the details.

For other things that says money back guaranteed, yes you could get your refund if you are not happy with the product. Not for cars. Once it's registered to your name, LTA do not allow you to change engine and change the car chassis coz engine & chassis number will be registered on your e-log card. So change car or refund becomes out of the question. Many ppl do not know that.

In the eyes of the law so long as the dealer does make parts replacement and repair to solve the car issues they are doing their part by doing what they can. There's no time limit or the time limit is the warranty period to get things fixed. In other words unless you have concrete evidence to prove otherwise you are at their mercy.

............

Thanks Bro. Mis-advice given by CASE probably. Makes sense given the nature of a vehicle possession and its ownership

Guess Our immediate angst is to seek legal recourse. It does take time and effort for one to see through it.

Well should have done my homework better!
