My friend got a white XV 1.6 in may last year (has done about 18k since)  and we swapped cars today for a couple of hours... my my I was pleasantly surprised.. felt quite peppy for a relatively 'heavy' 1.6 AWD car..although i'd prefer paddles/manual  mode for the CVT (just a minor gripe) .. compared to my FD1 civic it didnt feel that drastcally different (even though on paper the numbers tell a different story)

Love the ride height and how much better the Subaru interiors are (compared to the GD series imprezas) , and my friend tells me he gets 12.5-12.8km/l  with a roughly equal mix of city and  highway driving

I've tended to always discount Subarus without turbos but this is quite the game changer

Still considering whether to renew my FD1 when COE expires in about 6 months ,or scrap and get a new one, ahh, first world problems .

This XV and the forester (if price is right) has just made the decision a whole lot harder HAHAHA.

Resisted the temptation to go to the recent car EXPO cos i might have just booked on the spot  [laugh]  [smash]

btw XV and FXT, no brainer. The choice is obvious.

I'd love to get the FXT but due to budget constraints, will only get it if goes closer to the 100K mark, but, the XV is in no way a lesser option I feel, less power than FXT of course, but still a good drive

I drives a FD too, expiring next Jul. Can't help but get excited of the thought of finally getting a new car after 10 years! I shortlisted 3 cars, all Subarus! Hopefully COE don't go beyond my reach so that I can still afford a car next year.

Have yet to see the orange version on the road.

I test drove the XV and Forester non-turbo and booked the forester.

No need to solely think about FXT. Give the FNA a chance too.

i've seen 2 orange XVs so far. outstanding indeed but i feel it looks old and dated, even more so in a couple of years

Dated if it is treated as a trendy colour that has gone out of trend.

However, also depends on driver's character.

If the colour fits the character, it will not feel odd.

There are always people who go against the trend and look good in whatever they wear or whatever they drive.

By the way, my colour is not orange but something else.  To me all the XV colours look ok and let you find a match to your personality.

If orange is to go away, then should have another equally bright colour to replace - e.g. yellow? - for those whose personality match better with such bright colours.

Above just my 2 cents.

Note that orange no longer available in the US and so there are people there who envy that other countries still have orange available.

Orange got replaced by Hyper-Blue in the US - it's a sort of light bright blue.

Out on a whim, I went and pump V-power a couple of days ago. Previously been using Synergy 8000.

Oh boy I don't how to go back now... from the get go, I can feel the increased responsiveness of the engine. It almost doesn't feel like the same car.

That said, my fuel consumption also increased! Used to average 7-7.5 l/100km now its almost 9. Too foot happy from the increased performance.

I have used V-power before on my previous rides when there was the F1 promos but they were never really significant improvements over 98s. But on the XV, i really noticed the difference this time around.

It doesn't make money sense to pump V-Power on a regular basis but the exhilaration from the increased performance is something a car enthusiast cannot pass up and at least I know that its just a shell station away whenever i want to do some happy 'footing'.

I wonder why when talk about Forester, the 1st thing that come from a recommender mind is XT instead of NA.

So when we talk about Civic, ppls are referring to TypeR instread of NA?   [hur]
