Steady, lah! SBS bus captain's 'Japanese standard' of service impresses commuter

Its true about Japanese service standard. In fact, they are dam anal about it.

Years back in a sleepy Kobe suburbs, I got scolded by a bus captain for taking too long a time to figure out wat coins to put into slot machine. Die die must reach the next bus-stop at the stipulated time

No, its my fault for not getting the coins ready before I board.

All locals veri hup chok one as not to inconvenient the bus captain and thus, keep commuters waiting at the next bus-stop.

They would instinctively queue up and board the bus briskly, put in the coins and take their seats or go right to the back of the bus immediately. Nobody talks so as not to inconvenient those beside them who may be taking a nap. So, everyone is involved in keeping that customer service standard one [dead]

It takes just 1 dodo like me to mess up their perfectly well crafted, ingrained way of life :D

Hence, it is realli a distinct culture. Its their way of life but can be infuriating to the casual observers/visitors.

And hope our society are more open to them :))
