Lordgt Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 and NEVER NEVER drive with the hazard indicators on...bluddy helll where did they learn this...like X'mas lights...at most, on ur fogs!! FRONT (rear maybe) only!!! should be using rear foglights, but more Japs car here doesn't have any (unless higher end models) unlike conti cars just curious, wouldn't the rear frog light blind the driver following behind??? not in the rain or fog. However if on a clear day or night, it would be very irritating. ↡ Advertisement

RadX Moderator January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 ".... with the cat when you bought it..it is legal. ..." Erm..u mean some cars some without CATs?? Anyway for the RX-300s...
Cardinal Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 I know which group you are referring to. Don't want to diss them anymore since one poor fella mistaken drove into a pool thinking it was a puddle. I heard they purposely tweak their headlights this way so that cars in front will move outa their way... When I encounter such headlights, I turn on my rear fog lights. You can always look away from the rearview mirror, but you can't avoid looking in front

Cardinal Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 I'll be most glad if the car directly in front of mine on its hazard light in a heavy downpour. When visibility is only but 5 to 10 metres, I'd rather see 2 blinking lights than not seeing anything at all! Have personally driven in such conditions before, so I'm most appreciative when I see 'flashing lights'. Well, since we are supposed to turn on the headlights and taillights in such weather, wouldn't that serve the purpose of the 2 blinking lights? Plus, what if the car in front of you really broke down and is stationary in the middle of the road? Won't you end up driving into it, thinking that it's a moving car? if the vis is only 5-10 meters, ever thought of what's your braking distance in very wet conditions? I guess it may be more comforting to drive with hazards in downpour, but the people at risk are the ones who really break down, especially when more and more drivers start assuming that cars with hazard lights on are not really hazards. Lordgt Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 Their stand is...if it comes standard with the car when you bought it..it is legal. anyway what i wanted to say was that the RX300 are factory fitted. Unles kena those fake RX300, those with a Curb side mirror ones. Those i don't think come with HiD.
Assassin Clutched January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 Yup. Correct.
Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 just curious, wouldn't the rear frog light blind the driver following behind??? It's just like another set of brake lights but can be switched on continuously. Not blinding but can be a little bit irritating. I guess it's good enough to catch attention. Lordgt Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 yup, the purpose of that 2 blinking lights must be used for its intended purpose only. Its the only way to tell other cars that this car with the 2 blinking lights is stationary. Imagine, if a car breaksdown on a right hand lane. We won't can't tell the diff until its too late and there we have a pile up. can't agree more with you.
Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 the rear fog lights can be switch on too. this should be used if visibility is poor but most Japs car here doesn't have lar! Maybe it's time for a 4th brake lights? The Japs are too much. Cutting corners here and there. BTW, have you seen some clutz driving ard on a clear normal night with rear fog lamps on? He's likely to have switched on his front fogs too, like a Christmas tree.

Super7 Turbocharged January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 maybe these drivers are searching for coins on the road therefore need extra light to see clearly??
Madarmour Neutral Newbie January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 Actually, I have a different take on this. I'll be most glad if the car directly in front of mine on its hazard light in a heavy downpour. When visibility is only but 5 to 10 metres, I'd rather see 2 blinking lights than not seeing anything at all! Have personally driven in such conditions before, so I'm most appreciative when I see 'flashing lights'. First noticed taxis doing that some years back, so they might be the ones who started the trend. Definitely not taught in driving schools....at least not during my time. The hazard light's for hazardous situation. For visibility, can just switch on regular lights and if available, rear fog lights.
Super7 Turbocharged January 27, 2004 Share January 27, 2004 (edited) i fully support the idea of having a 4th brake light:- like i have mentioned last year, a 4th blinking brake light at the tip of a 2m tall antenna will give cars way behind advance notice that we are slowing down......... ..... at highway speed, a split second advantage will give much needed time for the drivers behind to slow down in an emergency...........
