There is a lot of pent up demand from young couples who wish to get married but have no place to stay..no place to stay means no piak no piak..no piak piak means no chewren coming out..means low birthrate means more pinoys and indians. [whip] How can the gahmen overlook such a basic foundation of the society the past few years...housing???

Now the situation is so much better under KBW, i remember last time under that shortie, BTO project launch each time only one or two project, 1 unit avg over 5 persons applying, i even ballot before a project 1 unit more than 25 person applying, i ballot 4 times, Q number sux to the very max until i almost give up and wanna buy resale, luckily my fifth try, i have 6 chances iirc n luckily i get my flat at last.

Now so much easier to get a flat, latest BTO project like bukit panjang, ratio only 1:1, such ratio is almost impossible under MBT era.

I think oversubsciption of 2x is healthy.

HDB shld gradually increase the "subsidy" and lower BTO price by around 0.75% for each launch until average price is 15% to 20% lower than current. And continue to ramp up supply to keep the oversubscription rate at around 2x.

This will cool down the resale as well as suburban. No need for all the useless "cooling measures" that would be implemented soon

But what do i know, i'm not minister caliblurr, [laugh]

Too much supply also not good. Those who brought the the flat will complain why house value never go up.

I think if too much supply, it will end up like few years back when many flats are vacant for many years then got people buy.

KBW is in a Catch 22 situation.

Tag to resale market is not his doing but his predecessor.

what happen if he untagged in a instant now?? those currrently waiting for their flat want will throw away their flat and forgot the deposit. then more KPKB will come.

MBT come in make a mess of everything....

Deflate too much, many suffer.

Dont do anything, many KBKP.

Inflate it further, he will lose his seat...

My guess that he is just deflating a small percentage waiting for the overall growth for the country to pick up before adjustment in overall value.

Yeah, that's probably the best action...

Dont complain so much. He's doing a better job than the previous guy. And it is already comforting to see this. Imagine the previous guy is still doing this job? what will happen?

Khaw already promised he will ramp up the supply of new flats at the fastest time possible. and so far, he's keeping to his promise.

no blame him ar. just amazed on his epic reply/excuse.

he could simply say they are trying to catch up.

i angmo lousy dono wht it meant by under supply means they are responding well ma.

Im thoroughly disappointed at KBW's attempt at spinning his ministry's lame effort in bringing down the housing affordability.

2x oversubscribed is a massive undersupply of housing. His policies are all wrong.

Public housing must be for Citizens ONLY. You want this benefit, you become a citizen. Otherwise non citizens can go to private housing.

If this policy was implemented long long ago, housing affordability would not have violently shot up like now. I can do better than this clown. <_<

Since when non Citizen can buy BTO flat??? [confused]

Why don't go back to the queue system previously? Then everyone gets a chance to book.

Previously i waited for 3 years in queue but had many choices ranging from matured to non matured estates when my turn came.

Nowadays ballot, some unlucky ones will never have a chance?
