Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 (edited) Can be worst than Middle-East conflicts? We can be in trouble: trade routes to USA, China, Japan, all affected if there is conflict. Edited April 14, 2012 by Good-Carbuyer

Walkingtree 1st Gear April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 shouldnt singapore be given the same limit too? If Sg go for 200nm, then JB, Bintan, Batam all we claim liao. Our territorial waters got 5 nautical mile already very good liao. Between us and JB, dunno got 1 nautical mile of territorial water or not.
Walkingtree 1st Gear April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 Vietnam and China (and to a lesser extent, PH) all pai kia... stick to 200nm limit can liao lah.. The issue is not 200nm from their coast line. It is 200nm from the various atolls, shoals, islands and rock crops in the middle of the ocean that they claim.

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 I think VN, PRC and PHP are all indulging in wishful thinking Ancient China was the first country to document records. It may really have such record of ownership. But International laws are new and all adhered. Military might may still be the deciding factor. We are seriously affected if there is any military conflicts there. our trade routes to Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, USA, Phillipines, all through that direction. Walkingtree 1st Gear April 14, 2012 Share April 14, 2012 200nm from those atolls, shoals, rock crops can cover very much bigger area than from thier coast. Exactly. That's how they end up having overlapping claims so far away from their coastlines. Its always about territory and resources. ↡ Advertisement
