Stanong11 Clutched April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 If the other party want to kotok ur friend, even if he do in jb also can inflate the charges. Maybe the ws overcharge him? Maybe there's more than just paint chip. Why not see the invoice and see what was done? But hor, if ws in cahoots with the other party, nothing ur friend can do. Next time got such thing happen again, (hope not), ask the other party go to a ws your friend knows.

PSP415 Supersonic April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Yr fren paid e guy already? Why did he agree to the amount in e first place? Obviously the damage does nt warrant S$600 to repair, if e damage is as per description.....oh mayb driver claim cos of his small sized car, bones also kena rattled by e "impact" so now must see doctor to get sedatives to calm nerves and calcium to steady e bones....next is gd tonic strong brew called beer or stout to keep head clear etc etc....haiz Personally will not pay but shd agree on the spot to settle with S$200-300 (just for e bumper + calcium + sedatives. Beer no no cos can cause accidents). Becos no settlement on e spot, guy went home, got houseful or streetful of "consultants" who will teach him valueless things like "how to carrot a Singaporean"..... If paid liao, take as hard lesson....if not, either pay e guy half or tell him go with you to a workshop here and tell him u will repair it again....ya, bumper done up by him liao but you must honour your words to repair it at your designated workshop mah....and do it again....see whether he will take e money and call yr fren mad. Just my tots..... Safe ride Cheers

StefanK Supercharged April 18, 2012 Share April 18, 2012 Pay this S$600.00 and write a note to ask that guy to sign, write down his particulars in case later on he make claims on your friend's insurance as well. If your friend don't pay, later the insurance company write a letter to tell your friend they just pay 10s of thousands of dollars to his claims. Next time don't agree to pay any amount right away. Instead offer to repair or assess damage at a known/friendly workshop first. Lastly, always force exchange of particulars with notes to state no injuries and agreements. Accidents can happen, but don't become a carrot.

Your friend should take the public transport for a while before he resumes driving with the accidents he got himself into. 休息是为了走更长远的路. If can claim against other people, I don't care where I do, if I can I will bring to Garage R to do! That's if the other party si bei guai lan lah. As for repercussions, your friend everyday will worry he kena claimed big sums by this fella, cannot sleep cannot eat, cannot stand. The 'victim' don't really need to take pictures, he can knock a few more times then one time claim from your friend also can, because this guy has your friend's particulars. Especially IC number. Like what the other bros suggested, negotiate with the guy, don't high hand or tough ball the guy into giving in. I'm sure S$200 converted into RM can be a tantalising sum for the other guy as well, so just try your luck.

Angchug 3rd Gear April 18, 2012 Share April 18, 2012 Last month a taxi uncle hit my rear bumper and just a small dent. At first I thought is going to be a $300-400 repair job but after running around a few workshops with him. We were unable to get any quote >$1000. In the end he ask me to report and claim from his insurance. Car got fixed 3 days later by my insurance authorize workshop. Total repair cost $3,500.00 excluding lost of usage. Any minor repair could run into thousand here. Even I am surprise

Just pay $150 to $200 will do. My friend while driving me to my car workshop got into an accident with a malaysia car last year in Singapore. Slight scratches to the rear bumper of that malaysian car. The malaysian driver ask for $400. I told my friend to give him $50 and told the malaysian driver to accept it. I also told the malaysian driver that if a singapore car got banged in malaysia, normally the malaysian drivers either pay only $50 ringgit or don't pay at all. He lan lan accept the $50 from my friend. ↡ Advertisement
