Hmm.. Lidat u quite heng leh.. Hit and run u gonna pay thru ur own wallet.. Now this unlucky chap gonna cover the repair fee for ur car's backside..

What insurer are u and the other party with? If u're with Aviva, better change back to stock..

I believe for most insurers, if your rim size is within the recommended sizes for your vehicle, it should be no problem.. Other mods, if illegal, better don't take the chance.. It's not gonna be ez to find a new insurer if your current insurer voids your insurance..

Anyway, ur own insurer won't usually check your vehicle unless u are claiming from them.. For rear-ended case, if it is 100% his front hit your back straight on, it should be a straightforward 100% liability to the one at the back (No excuses even if u jam ur brakes for nothing and they catch in on video.. They may fight, but I don't think they'll win..)

The insurer of the other party will be doing the inspection.. I know though that Aviva checks your vehicle in all accident claims whether or whether not u're claiming from them..

Idac close, meaning to say if the other party uses aviva, his insurer will check my vehicle for rims and disallow of claim if it's over size?

As u r doing a third party claim against the other party, the other insurer cannot disallow the claim unless its a very excessive claim amount..

Hopefully, cause it's quite a hassle to swop rims. For bumper, don't think will claim much, but hopefully can get back my car soon, quite troublesome to keep changing...

If u are making a direct 3rd party claims, don't think the other insurer has any right to dispute yr modification.. somemore u are talking abt a kissing accident at traffic light, not those 50-50 accidents where the other party is also accusing u of partial fault too.

I guess with the change of a better fuel efficiency car, my chance will be double...

Neutral Newbie

Need to hijack this thread as I cannot create a new one...

Anyone know if I am rear-ended (By a taxi) but somehow the damage is leaning towards the right side of the back, will I still be able to claim against his insurance?

Another point is that because my baby was also in my car with me and was crying badly because of the accident, I did not stay to argue with the driver nor to write down his particulars (only took down his license plate number) will I still be able to make the claim?
