Anyway those who get used to Mercedes,BMW,Jaguar or Audi, will always 'stick' back to these brands,no one will go back to a Korean make, only a small portion of people maybe will change to Lexus, because not they don't like Conti cars,it is because some of these car give them too much problem, like breakdowns.

[wave] Haha I for one is abandoning MB cos been sending it twice in a year for repair with bill up to 10k...

People who drives 3.8 lit car with this kind of road tax goes for image which also reflects status. K9 is therefore a image downgrade even if it is half the price of merc.

Low pricing will only attract the average consumer, tell me - which average consumer will buy the K9 except korean companies here, would you buy a korean car 3.8 lit and pay this kind of road tax for the specs and also low image? Stop bluffing yourself.

Even the Azera fails, would this K9 work here? Not a chance. I dont think KMC would even bring in, why? They know the above fact. I will be surprised if you dont by now. Only on Indent basis - YES! for korean companies.

K9 come in 3.3GDI too. In fact cant really say Azera is a failure, compared to crown and legend, theres a handful of units floating in the used car market.

The new Azera has been out for a while already. Those in the used market (aka taxi model) is the predecessor.

The new model looks like this:

seriously, what exactly is the difference btw standard & options available~? arent all these eventually end up as new features for all models~? personally, standard is like bulk order & options is like special order siboh~? [laugh] its more like marketing strategy for these companies~ in the end, its the final selling price which most buyers mind are being 'manipulated' by carsales~

eg. if u buy 2 units of s500, i can throw in mini fridge as free upgrade

mid-sized sedan upgrading may consider s300(eg. sclass entry) then they face issues like not enough features must addon options

full-sized sedan upgrade s600(eg. sclass higher range) those goes for highest range models dont really bother abt price so they wont care if its standard or options, just add whatever to it~

First was ecu card for 7k and just this week ecu harness cable for 4k.....

S$10~S$20k/yr on repairs is much better than catching fire on car rite~? [laugh]

fyi, i averaged S$1k on replacement parts mthly, no wonder my mech tells me there are benz owners asking "got cheaper oil filter huh~?" when he charges an original for ard S$25~ is this a sg thing~? [:p]

Well, let me put it this way:

The standard model that the distributor brings in are basic spec -> meets market demand, cheaper to sell. They have plenty of luxury/ technological features, but are available at extra cost (usually making the car price much more expensive).

Hyundai USA on the other hand, give these features as standard in their cars. Meaning, the cars the distributor sell, comes with these already fitted to their cars, and yet it's still a lot cheaper!!!

its a matter of brand perception and cost of manufacturing, quality etc. Not everything is equal between conti and KR manufacturers.

Earlier, to get noticed, it was important for KIA/Hyundai to bring cars with more options and offer warranty for 5 years (or even 10 years like they did for sometime in Dubai). It only helped to an extent cos the cars looked boring and drive was not good.

Having said that, KIA has over these last few years, has shown incredible improvements in design and quality. I've owned a KIA before and I can confidently say that it used to suck to drive (and I quickly passed it down to my salesman). Now, its different. The ride is pliant but not soft that it rolls in corners. Steering shows good feedback, etc.

So what left is brand perception. That'll change over time. KIA especially has great things going for it.

Haiya, this kind of thing, only happens to the Chinese. Face value more important than model number. Haha.

Then why not get Rolls Royce Phantom?? Maybach not an option now, cos Mercedes is closing down the brand. Bentley Mulsanne's look like a clown/ frog too.... Phantom is the next upgrade.

That mean all upgrade except my wallet? Lol

To me A8, S class and 7 Series is the max, anything more than that rather spend it elsewhere, in countries like sg, the depreciation like mad, if I stay in US, i dun mind owning a flying spurs since price is cheaper than in sg. Better get property like bro throttle hehe

Yes KMC won't bring in K9. Because they don't carry Kia.

S$1k on replacement parts monthly?

Can I know what car and how old?

So far I'll say 10k is the max I'd spend on repair with this MB, on average it's more like 1k annually not monthly for maintainance. Why Korean? It's more of their generous warranty coverage, n I know if any thing gone wrong it wun cost a leg or arm to repair.
