the problems with MIW are:

they never learn, like an emperor who has always gotten his way, would one expect him to change

we, Singaporeans belong to them, without them, we would not be where we are today, i believe Singaporeans are mature enough to appreciate the contributions of the MIW (older generations) but what has the newer generation contributed, overspending in YOG, once every 50years event

because they wear white, they think they are holier than angels, even when they do or say wrong, they think they are still doing right, because for them two wrongs but choosing the lesser wrong is RIGHT to them, this mentality is like superman, without his red underwear he is nobody

they dont appreciate or respect the fact that the younger generations have higher expectation and cannot be fooled easily, look at the recent by election, the simple fact is that MIW still thinks the younger generation relies more on the MSM

in the end, the most fatal flaws are:

they forget that we are all singaporeans, when one get hurts, the rest of singaporeans also feel the pain, Singaporeans are caring people

to them money may be everything, why former MM keeps harping on uptill today, that if the man can be ministers, they can easily find a job outside with better salary, but being a minister seriously is a calling to serve, isnt what we have been hearing Mr Png and Mr Choo being saying, we are here to serve singaporeans

worries:

when LKY kicks the bucket, there will be internal struggle for leadership, we dont know the consequences but we have witness factioning happening already, hence without a shadow government (close to one) in place, i see we might be in for a rough ride.

Recently on CNA, Maverick, Mr. Philip Yeo said, in my team people who cannot perform after 1,2 3 chances, they get kicked out

but this does not happen

the social burden in the country supporting, all the ministers, MP and top civil servants on pension. While on pension many are still earning large salary packages from being advisor to holding senior positions in GIC or TH.

Hope:

if this by-election, anything can come out of it, is when one, the WP and PAP work in cooperation for the benefit of the residence of Hougang (btw they are also citizens of Singapore),

people of Hougang have been sufferring for too long, I wish only the best for them in the coming years

Most probably TCH was assigned the role of 'fall guy'....just in case the party loses in the by-election;

A Smart leader always have at least one contingency plan for damage control/saving face.

We have to pity him instead becos he was scared 'shi@#*ss'!

It is of my opinion that Tharman is being groomed as the next leader. Small Lee has been very low profile after GE2011, while Tharman has been rather vocal the right way the right times. Big mouth Teo will never be PM and the 2 Generals are being fast tracked to replace him, so he thought he can score some political points, but backfire [laugh]

TCH also a general/rear admiral right?

they forget that we are all singaporeans, when one get hurts, the rest of singaporeans also feel the pain, Singaporeans are caring people

I think this is the part they are unable to recognize that is killing them. Maybe they have been reading too much of the mainstream media that has article bashing Singaporeans for being materialistic, selfish and Kiasu. Yes some Singaporeans are like that, but by and large Singaporeans - not the newly minted ones - despite their flaws are nice people.

Yes, we may have selfish tendencies but we have soft hearts. When our fellow Singaporeans, who built the country with us together, took the same PSLE, serve the same BMT, took the same national pledge, pay the same tax, took temperature and suffer the same CPF during the SARs crisis ... etc are deprive of too much, we go "wa lao they are Singaporeans too wanna hantam a little can but don't be Chek Ark".

20 years of deprivation from taxpayers funds for their old folks to get their upgrading is Chek-Ark. Over time, the Ah-Gongs and Ah-Mahs and the Opposition MP who banded and suffered together for a belief, became respected citizens, then heroes and at this stage, they have become ideals and icons. When this happen, they become an example others strive to be and they propagate (see Aljunied and soon East Coast).

How does PAP combat against ideals and icons with what they have now, which are money, physical improvements and threats? They better figure out soon... they know how powerful being an icon or ideals is. LKY, OTC and GKW were icons of everything we used to be proud of.

The phrase go " you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain" the other side of the coin is: "you either die from suffrage or live long enough to become a hero"

helo pls respect the rear admiral hor...even though he is lowest ranked...

Rear admiral

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rear Admiral is a naval commissioned officer rank above that of a commodore and captain, and below that of a vice admiral. It is generally regarded as the lowest of the "admiral" ranks, which are also sometimes referred to as "flag officers" or "flag ranks". In many navies it is referred to as a two-star rank.
