MRT Escalator breaks in pieces

STOMPer Kelvin Ho says this escalator at Kembangan MRT suddenly broke down with a bang so loud he thought a train had crashed.

 

The STOMPer wrote:

 

"The escalator at Kembangan MRT suddenly gave way.

 

"This happened on Saturday, June 16, at about 6pm.

 

"I heard a very loud sound.

 

"At first I though a train had collided or something.

 

"I went over to the escalator and saw this.

 

"Luckily no one appeared to have been hurt."

someone must have thrown a chicken bone that jam up the escalator [rolleyes]

 

Mrt breakdown. Now even escalator also break down.

People have bone to pick with SMRT now that the skeletons are coming out the closet.

Last time can organize religious prayers at reservoir, now looks like better also pray BEFORE more mishaps happen at MRT.

Lucky no one was reported to be chewed up by the steps.

It could have being worst.

 

This is like car maintenance.....never bother to change and lub the belts/timing chains.....suddenly break due to fatigue/creep stress.....boom....total breakdown.

Who cut cost/maintenance untill like that? I suppose it's the escalator supplier, as they are under the long term service contract scheme?
