SimonTan 2nd Gear June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 My Electrolux washing machine spoilt this morning. Lasted 1.5 years. The previous Samsung model also lasted 1.5years. Both cost around $599 each. Both out of warranty period then breakdown. Tough luck. Does washing machine breakdown at 1.5 years considered normal? Anyone who got lobang to get a good model washing macine please recommend me or PM me. I need it one by end of today, at at least Saturday....because one whole week of clothes and bed sheets are still unwashed. Is the price same at HN,Courts? Or cheaper to go to those neighborhood shops? Anyone? Thanks. ↡ Advertisement

I'm suprised that your Electrolux kaput so soon. Did you overload your machines? Do you want top-loader or side-loader? P.S. Neighbourhood shops are at least $50 cheaper and delivery is free. Side loader Electrolux up lorry after 6 years due to not turning on tap and washer running on heater mode. Got a load full of dry, smelly, dirty and hot laundry. Piak! That's it. Kb27 Supersonic June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 My first Electrolux, front loading, last 20 yrs. It was still working but corroding away when we got rid of it. Cockroaches make the inside their home. 2nd one is Bosch, front loading. Terrible, every couple of years must replace the shocks or it will jump up and down. Got rid of it, tired of spending money replacing shocks. Current one is Fisher & Paykel top loading, still working after nearly 10 years. Just replaced a small water pump, that's all. So yeah, 1.5 yr is a bit too short. You need to compare price between neighbourhood shops and the big chains. Sometimes the price difference may not be too much. Currently, I'm happy with F&P, will buy again when it's totally dead.
SimonTan 2nd Gear June 22, 2012 Author Share June 22, 2012 I don't know how to abuse the machine. No accelerator pedal to rev the machine, nor did I mod it to spin faster. I want to try other brand this time...perhaps Brandt or Bosche.......I think more expensive but should last 5years as what many claimed.

I find those Brandt or Bosche like very "atas", also may not last long. I find buying those normal brand like panasonic, sharp or toshiba etc should be good enough. 5936 1st Gear June 22, 2012 Share June 22, 2012 Mine new machine also on MC. Cannot pump out water. This new Panasonc 10kg, one of the latest with many As and ticks is approx one month old. Waiting for agent technician today. Hope it can be repaired today. Not sure if MiC product has quality issue. I was using a Made in Germany AEG for more than 15 yrs. Changed only the dampers and belt. ↡ Advertisement
