hmm ok forgive me then because i've actually never modified *anything* on any of the cars i've owned. not even the rims. every single car has basically been stock from day one ... so i guess i should ask & listen more first lol.

There is nothing doing more research.

For me, i need a in-car camera that can capture video well enough at night. I install it the wk after i took over my used car. Based on the price i was quoted, it is as per Blackvue portal. In addition, the labour charge is clearly shown in the shop for most car.

For MkII, heat is still an issue as Micro SD car is still very hot.

1) Its ok to use other classes but recommended by bro Adrianli and others is Class 10 which I am using as well;

2) So yours is not BV DR400G-HD Season II? Then it should not be a problem to upgrade the firmware on the PC/lappy to version to 1.040 with no issues with the necessary micro-SD card inside.

But if yours is Season II then just do not place this installed card into BV directly because it will not work as the sweet Korean voice will say," The version information is different". This is because the 1.040 version is for the previous model & not for Season II.

If yours is Season II then you will need then to format the micro-SD card with the firmware 1.040 erased.

You can then place this formatted card into the BV to let it install with its pre-loaded firmware for Season II to work.

After that just use the firmware 1.040 on your PC/lappy to read or modify the parameters.

Thereafter just format the card and place the empty card into BV to re-start the whole process again.

Capice?

Roger. Mine is BV DR 400GHD first Generation. Do I need to perform the formatting?

The BV manual seems to say so just format it weekly lo though some bros say theirs work fine even without the regular formatting.

Oh ya, for SD card also got PI and AD. PI ones, warranty is in Taiwan. AD ones, warranty in SG. Normally those at exhibition are from PI sources cos cheaper.

This is what I learnt when I brought my Sandisk card for warranty exchange.

Just go to either shop, Best Buy or Best Bargain, to purchase the SD card. They are the cheapest amongst other shops in SLS. Local warranty.

For your general gauge. Own a DR350, no power magic. Record 4 days non-stop without starting my car.

No problem with battery.

DR350 power consumption is 3W (Source: http://www.blackvue.com/en/contents/sub1.asp?idx=10 ) so running current = 3/12 = 0.25A asssuming a 12V, 45AH normal car battery

Time to fully discharge the car battery with a 24/7 setup = 45/0.25 = 180hrs or 7.5 days assuming all your other vampire devices like car alarms are off and car battery at full charge.

But to play safe better not to let it drain your car battery for so many days.

Mine I have two cams running at 24/7 but give myself max 3 days only before I switch it off [wave]

You are welcome.

I think Vulcann had give a very detailed calculation in a perfect controlled environment.

For my case, is personal experience during the time when I was away for reservist.

My vehicle was bought 2nd hand, hence, I not sure how old the battery is.
