my dr550 had served me well for the last 5 years. apart from a broken clip there is no problems. now i am looking for an upgrade. 

 

except for blackvue, any other brands that can offer live streaming while recording ? also a better quality night recording is required.

 

my current 1 does not offer a good night recording.

Have interface. Plug the usb to your mobile and install its app. You can do your settings in the app, view the recorded video or leave it connected while recording. It will then able to display gps speed in the video.

Thetr is a apk inside the camera itself. Once you plug into the camera with your phone, look for it in the camera's directory.

AD dont install =/ tried asking. But if leave the battery or powerbank hanging seems very ugly and clumbersome. I dont have much choice it seems :(

 

AD likes to use such scare tactics.

 

in fact the car cams installed by ADs contractors are worse.  They contact directly to car battery.  So depending on the settings, the camera either stop recording once you turn off your engine, or records in parking mode until the car battery power drops to a certain level....which is potentially even more harmful to the car electronics.

 

just installed cellink neo 24hrs on both cars  swear by them.  used to have the older model in previous car.

I understand some have resolution issue, others have low memory, while some Overheat... I wouldn't want to recommend any brand, just ask those who are ACTUALLY using it and not those promoting them.

just a curious question....if a camera sucks is it the quality or durability or software issues?

I play play use my SII as a DVR (no wide angle can only see 1/2), the quality is damn good (only use 720p setting) so are the ones on the market similar quality as my SII. IMO 720p is good enough if quality is like my SII.

saw a few DVR at Qoo10...very cheap, tempted to try.

If its a HD quality issue, i dont mind the lower specs.
