Hi bros

I'm thinking of making my car cam 24 hour.

I know how and where to get it done.

My question.

If u park overnight somewhere, and some one scratch Ur car 20cm long.

Are u going to watch the video over 12 hrs?

Not forgetting, all the videos are in 1 min block.

I'm renovating my house and tot of moving somewhere temporarily. But that area very prone to car scratches cos that's where I grew up.

Get a motion and impact sensor car camera.

Otherwise, use VLC video player and watch by folder. So can scroll thru the whole night video very fast.

It is a temporary arrangement, get a car cover. Even if you catch the person, but not be easy to get compensation, unless you want to change your car cam or add a new car cam permanently.

Thinking of going to Toh Guan East shops to look for a reasonably priced car cam.

Only need front channel and no need 24hr recording.

Should not have car battery draining problems.

Price upto $200 including installation.

Anyone can help with recommendation? – brand / model number and shop name.

Was at Clementi Mall – got this shop that sells Marbella including installation.

And the thread on Marbella KR5 helps.

Today’s brochure price incl installation:

KR5 - $299

KR6 - $349

The guy manning the stall at the atrium was vague on where the workshop for installation will be. Said somewhere in west coast.

Looks like I will settle for this brand and this shop.

Those brand u highlighted are considered as high end. If no, please clarify what brand then consider as high end?

If u are really just look for regular cam, why not just get it from petrol kiosk?

I need help and asking for ideas and suggestion, instead I have a technical question from you (unlike others who responded)

what is considered high-end, pls define !

From Brand itself you can qualify that it is high-end ?  Even so, I am sure among these brands, there are the entry level isnt it

Just LV is considered designer brand, but in it , there are entry items like a key-chain at $250 ..

Anyway , thanks for your respond , I hope I have with my not so clever posting, answered you , what is not so High-end

Maybe weekend I go shopping .... see what i ended up with.

I am more inclined to install Blackvue (front and back) since there are good review about it

Just install the entry model to tahan a year or 2 before I jump to GLC :)

4th Gear

I'm using Hella DR 760, which was an option from the car agent.  Was told it costs $3xx.

I've been using for a month.  It's very well designed, with good UI, wifi, front and back, have parking mode, easy with microSD cards and doesn't seem to use up too much juice.  I drive to work and back home on weekdays - no problem starting engine each morning.  Have yet the opportunity to stretch it beyond two days.

A cheaper alternative which I've used many of the same model is 70Mai (a xiao mi company) - this is what I call cheap and good.  It doens't have parking mode and no slave rear camera capability.  It costs $4x online.
