Dose this car beat red light?? Along beach road area.where there is an exist to turn into Nicole highway..next to Saint John building..

not sure consider chiong(beat) red light...is green on our side and also green light for the pedestrians to cross..but this car just zoom in from my right and cross it..while people is crossing the road...too bad can not get hold of the car plate...not sure whether this car still allow to turn at that moment..

Driver is a mid age bold head man...not able to cathc up the car..by the time all the pedestrians cross..the car already long gong..

Your view???

Neutral Newbie

In my view, he did not beat the red light. Your side is green and so is his. The issue is he should wait for your side of traffic to be cleared first then then can do a right turn or he should wait for the green arrow for him to turn. In this case, he is just plain reckless.

This junction comes with a right arrow signal, if your light just turned green his side should still be red. he can easily killed those pedestrians crossing the road.

No,he did not beat red light. He has no right of way but doesn't flout any traffic rules. Only thing can be charged is dangerous driving cause he might hit and pedestrian if he is not careful.

Confirmed reckless & dangerous driving! Met lots of these buggers at this type of junctions... Once I was turning left (like you) and keeping to the right lane as I need to turn into a carpark down the road then this tc car came turning right from opposite and horned at me hard!

I thought when you make a left turn, you should stay at the leftmost lane ? Then after you turn ,then filter right if you want to turn right. the one turning right also should keep right and filter left should you want to turn left later on.

Just wondering, u are at the left lane, shouldnt u have turned to the left lane instead of the right lane???

There are two left turn lane at that junction(Beach Road), turning into a 3 lane road(Jalan Sultan). The left most lane of Jalan Sultan is URA parallel parking so u should be turning to the centre lane instead of the right lane.

Yes, that car is reckless to dash across while ppl are crossing but he did not beat the red light.

The van is also another one, doing an illegal u-turn. Its no u-turn at that junction.

I know this junction, always turn right to Nicoll Highway there. The light for the right turn is either green arrow, or green arrow off. There's no red light to "cheong". But if the light was green on your side, he should still have waited to turn 'cos I assume had:

1) Traffic going straight on your side.

2) Given way to you turning left (since the entry is a 1-lane road)

3) Given way to pedestrians crossing the road

This would be considered reckless driving.

Hmmm... You are rite!

The guy turn right took advantage that its an X box and the cars going straight must wait behind the X box. He did not flout any traffic rule. The only thing is the driving style is reckless and if a car decide to go straight ignoring the X box will surely hit him, So the driver is just taking chances that no car will move due to X box and quickly make a dash for a right turn.

I think you are right green arrow or no green. No red.

Don't think he beat but more of reckless.. see the photo below, there is a green arrow traffic light. It will only turn on when my side is red.

Hard one. If something happened, then can dispute 50-50. Yes, there's a right green arrow when in his favor. But also, when right green arrow is off (no red), he can only pass when there is no oncoming traffic or traffic is stopped by yellow junction box. So this guy very confident that he will make the turn. Seen this type of situations a few times, mostly motorbikes are the culprit.

Confirm he is at fault. His side is red light. If he wan to turn, he have to wait for the right turning arrow. Just lucky that car didn't do a bowling stun. Else sure got a lot injury.

This area of the road is so terrible during 6-8pm... Jam like mad
