first tank 12km/litre. Way below the spec.. any of you see any drastic differences in mileage after first 1000km servicing? =)

i think for sg...you probably compare more to the urban cycle, rather than combined..lol

My 2.0 every 1 litre only yields about 10km ... [bigcry]

And I thought the fuel efficiency of 2.0 is better than the 2.5 according to what the SE told me i.e. 6l/100km compared to 6.6l/100km

Is it due to driving methods or the roads that I take?

I only drive to work and back, maybe 75% urban and 25% highway.

How to get 12km/l?

No leh ... but maybe I tend to step harder during pick-up.

Pick-up for 2.0 is kind of slow ...

If always travel on congested road no way to get the stated FC. But the FC is still way better than my 2.0l old 6.

Yup, heard Sdxx 2.5L made it at 15km/L on NSHW drive. [cool]

Yes, precisely. I don't understand why 2.5 can yield 12km but 2.0 which is supposed to be more fuel efficient yields only 10km. Is it the petrol we pump? Is it our driving patterns?

Wht petrol you pumped? By right shouldn't be the case, normally more on the driving patterns and traffic conditions.

In the real world, 2.5L should be more fuel efficient than 2.0L taking into consideration car size and weight. 2.0L for this car is underpowered which require more work from engine.

In most markets, 2.5L is the basic entry level for Mazda 6, similar to Camry, similar to Altis (1.8L is the basic entry level and not 1.6L) and so on......

Interestingly, 2.5 auto is slightly more fuel efficient than 2.5 manual looking at the EPA figures. However, in the real world, I suspect manual will still have an edge in stop/start traffic conditions. Due to higher gear ratio for auto, it will be more fuel efficient if one is cruising on it all day long.
