  3. Im considering a few car to change due to family planning as currently driving a SSS manual. Shortlisted a mazda 6 as the design is pretty sweet and also auto so wife can drive. space wise also pretty gd, and impressive boot space. I was wondering any mazda6 driver here? I had shortlisted 1 unit and test drove it. depri is 9k and 1 owner. Tested and feel that car handles and drives well, with no wierd or unusual sound/vibration during the short test. I was wondering if there is anything i should look out for. Its a 5AT gearbox so im not too sure if there is any known problem with it. Coming frm a manual owner, im pretty scare of auto transmission as heard alot of story from frens that gearbox piang etc Would love to hear from fellow mazda 6 owner here. I also shortlisted the lancer ex GT however the depri is more than 10k+ easily, and feedback from my friends is he will pick a mazda 6 anytime because they feel that the depri is too high for a lancer ex.
  4. Mazda will recall 88,000 vehicles which are fitted with the marque's proprietary i-ELOOP energy recovery system. A spokesperson for Mazda USA has confirmed that up to 88,000 cars will be involved in this recall, citing the "control program that is designed to protect the capacity is reacting hyper sensitively when the alternator belt gets wet and slippage occurs". This will affect the car's acceleration, and in more severe cases the glitch will cause the engine to stall. However, the company has assured that no accidents or injuries has been caused by the fault. It is unsure if the models imported into Singapore are affected by this round of recall.
  5. Just recently, Mazda announced that production of the all new Mazda6 has officially started and the sedan version was showcased at the recent Moscow Auto Show. Mazda intends to debut the car at the upcoming Paris Motor Show later this month. But before Mazda does that, the Japanese automaker has unveiled the car ahead of its scheduled debut. Mazda Motor Corporation will hold the world premiere of the all new Mazda6 wagon (known as the Atenza in Japan) at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and the sedan version will be exhibited alongside it. Both models displayed at the Paris Motor Show will feature Mazda's new Skyactiv-D 2.2 clean diesel engine. The Skyactiv-D 2.2-litre diesel engine is available in either Standard Power or High Power versions. Both engine types comply with Europe's Euro 6 emissions standards. Additionally, the new Mazda6 will also be available with the Skyactiv-G 2.0 and Skyactiv-G 2.5 direct injection gasoline engines. The 2.0 litre engine makes 134bhp and 210Nm of torque and the 2.5-litre engine delivers 189bhp and 256Nm of torque. The new Mazda6 is the flagship model for a new generation of Mazda products and is the second of Mazda's new generation of vehicles which incorporate both the full range of Skyactiv technologies and the new Kodo

  9. hi guys, need some help here. I'm considering the above cars. I know the S-GT is out of place cuz its a TC car and the M6 is out of place cuz it's supposed to be compared with camry and accord. but based on price, they are ard the same range. S-GT:$87000 Mazda6:$85000 (basic model) Civic SI:$83000 Sylphy:haven check. I wish to look for a 2L car, auto, from AD. The S-GT is good in terms of power but the FC sucks. Pls advice on which will be a rational choice?

  11. Hello all, Does anyone know where I can get new grill for Mazda6 V-grade other than from MM? I saw some nice grill but can't seems to find where to get it from. Thanks.
  12. I am thinking of buying the new mazda6 basic model from PI ($76,900) as compared with AD ($84,988). Interest rate : 2.28%. Any forum can share the pro and cons for buying from PI? Is the cost saving near $8K worth the 'risk'? Fyi, the PI suited at Turf city.
  13. ...not considering the almost-completely intangible resale value issue, that is. And why? Thanks in advance for feedback
  14. Came across these tests on the new Mazda6, sounds promising... Interesting to note that a number of Japanese marques have chosen to launch new models in Europe ahead of their home markets. Also interesting is the fact that a number of Japanese cars actually feel more 'European' than their Euro counterparts. http://www.channel4.com/4car/rt/mazda/mazda6/2822/2 http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/road_tests/index.htm?id=300 http://www.whatcar.com/car-review-full.aspx?RT=2810

MAZDA is accepting bookings for two sporty numbers. The first is the Mazda6 MPS (Mazda Performance Series), powered by a new 2.3-litre direct-injection turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox (above). It boasts an active all-wheel-drive system that puts to good use its 258bhp and 380Nm of torque. The car looks distinctive with its pronounced air intake, flared side skirts and 18-inch aluminium wheels. The Mazda6 MPS hits 100kmh in 6.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 240kmh. It is priced at $129,988 (with COE) and deliveries start in November.
