Scoot passengers from S’pore land in Xi’an to learn some baggage offloaded before takeoff

Quote

In response to queries from ST, a spokesperson from Scoot, the budget arm of Singapore Airlines, said some baggage was removed from the flight before its scheduled departure at 7.10pm on Thursday because of “unusually strong headwinds”, which “impacted the performance of the aircraft”.

“Affected passengers were informed that their baggage was offloaded upon arrival in Xi’an at 1.28am on Sept 15, 2023,” the spokesperson said.

Airlines make mistakes send the bag to the wrong place I understand

but headwinds?

Next time I book better check headwinds.

If got strong headwinds must pack my underwear in my hand luggage.

If bags don't come I can change to clean underwear!

I am not those types one underwear 4 days.

Change back to front and then inside out and back to front and inside out!

:D

Alleged bomb threat on Scoot flight: 30-year-old Australian arrested after plane returns to Singapore

Flight TR16, which had initially departed from Changi Airport Terminal 1, was escorted back by RSAF fighter jets.

A 30-year-old Australian man was arrested on Thursday (12 Oct), following an alleged bomb threat during a Scoot flight headed for Perth.

The plane had returned to Singapore's Changi Airport escorted by fighter jets an hour after it had taken off. It was carrying 363 passengers and 11 crew members.

According to The Straits Times, the police were alerted to the suspected bomb threat around 4.55 pm, and arrested the male passenger for criminal intimidation after completing security checks. Investigations are presently underway.

A police spokesperson said the Singapore Police Force takes "security threats seriously and will not hesitate to take action against those who intentionally cause public alarm",

A Scoot spokesperson confirmed to The Straits Times that the flight, Flight TR16, had departed Changi Airport at 4.11pm, but "due to a bomb threat", a decision was made to return approximately one hour into the journey, with the aircraft landing back at Changi Airport at 6.27pm.

Passengers described the man as being "a bit dazed" and said "he didn't speak at all" when confronted by crew and authorities.

A friend of the man said his mate had been struggling with his mental health.

"I spoke to his mum this morning, she's very distressed, very confused," the friend told 9News.

"I'm worried he's not getting the support he needs, he's got no one around him, he's an Aussie overseas."
