This is quite common on our roads. One guy wanted to beat the lights while the other fellow moved off the second his lights turned green.

Just a reminder for everyone

Yes, this lesson was not learnt either in BTT (wait for atleast 2 seconds after green) or after the Ferrari accident by some of the drivers properly. A couple of weeks ago, at around 11pm, a driver behind me (both for right turn) blew his horn continuously immediately after green. Before green itself he was very very close to my car (inching forward) and no one was behind him. Got off my car with hazards and fu**ed him left and right!

The driver on the camera car also did not notice that the oncoming taxi wasn't slowing and just took it for granted that it was his right of way. You can hear from the engine note that he never paused in his acceleration right up to the moment of impact. Likely that both parties were distracted, sleepy, or something. If either car was alert, yes it would have been avoidable.

Easier said that done - when you are on the wheel. So many distractions - phone call, talking, dreaming ...what not.

Just drive slowly, especially on raining day
