Hi bros,

Need some advises. I m currently on Falken 912 245/35/19. Reminds me of my skiing trip whenever it rains... esp in multi storey car parks...I m thinking of changing to csc5p but thinking of 235/35/19 instead as I dun see the need of 245. Should I downsize or should I keep the current profile? Tyrepac is offering csc5p at 401 excluding labour but is mfg sept 11. Ls all in at 440 per tyre including labour, and tyres mfg in 12. Which one should I get?

Thanks.

No experience with Falken 912s...could it be tyre grip or car too much torque ?

I am not very sure, but I think slight skids on most local MSCP grounds should be common because it is a smooth, flat surface, rather than tarmac, which the wheels are made for.

So if the ground is wet, slight aquaplanning can still occur regardless of how 'sticky' your wheels are.

I may or can be wrong this.

Currently on Goodyear F1, 235/45/17. Slight skidding occurs but very sticky on tarmac roads.

Thanks bro.

The tyres r on my e60. Sold my rex and Lgt a while back. Really missed those cars... Now driving like uncle but still experiencing skiing so I think it's time to change those tyres. Was on ps3 for the lgt. Good tyres in terms of aqua planning. I m sure the pss must be better. But the side walls r really soft.. Heard raving reviews on csc5p so thinking of changing to tat.. Now the only question on my mind is shd I change the profile to 235 instead... Dun think it wld make too much of a difference rite?

If 235 enough then go for 235. Cheaper and better FC. Technically lesser grip but should not cause any skiing. I am on GY Asymm2 235-35-19. But then again my original was 215-40-18. So you need to see what was your original wheel/tyre size also and whether your intention is to retain same overall wheel circumference of you want bigger wheel (to fill up the fender).

Thanks bro. Where did u get ur asymm2 and price? It's one of my consideration too. Was on gy f1 asymm and love the grip. A bit noisy though..

Got from autokinetics @ $370 but do call them to check cos the prices fluctuate every now and then. Most UHP tyres are noisy. But i also like CSC5P. Just that there was really a lot of rave reviews on the Asym2 so i curious to try.

I think if go for 235, then cannot be 35 already, if you want to keep wheel same size and odo accurate.

hmm... the bigger width it goes, the higher chance for aquaplaning.... but the PSS is really good in displacing water thats for sure. my previous tire at width of 235 would experienced floating while cutting through puddle of water, but not with the 245 PSS.

I believe the width does make a different should same make and model rubber were used, not so for different make. my personnel opinion is should stay with the 245, coz 235 is odd size............. were having trouble to get the same size for my previous rim, maybe also becoz it was a 235/45-R17.....

never had any experience with CSC, cant say much, but based on many reviews, seems a good choice for comfort + performance ride, should not be a wrong move getting it i suppose.

so far, based on wat i hear fr frens, falken isn't tat good when it comes to avoiding the skidding....tat's why i stick to established brands like michelin, continental, bridgestone, yokohama, etc.

what's the width of the rims? if 8.5j or 9J better use 245 to prevent tires stretching.

for 245, should be 8.5j.

Based on the general rule of thumb, rims should be btn 75-90% of the tire width....
