After car loan finish, do you get any documents?

My car loan finished earlier this year.

After that, there is just no deduction from my bank account. But there is no official correspondence by the finance company, Hong Leong in my case.

 

Is this the norm?

Heard that last time, u also will get your Log card back? But now, it's all electronic right?

For me I get a letter from DBS that insurance company need not send my policy to them

usually after full settlement, the bank will send u a letter.

dbs dont send liao i think. my dad finished his car loan a few mths back ... also wondered the same question. when i asked, the rep told me now its recorded under LTA as free from encumbrance ... thats it .. *shrugs* till today nth le.

there's no physical log card anymore. if i rem correctly, the bank will issue some letter of release so that the owner can access the log card from LTA.

Last time my dad's van loan also under Hong Leong...

 

But me and my mom went to pay up the last installment by cash over the counter to the bank teller, then will get official letter for end of loan tenure and also the original log card...

 

But hor, was sometime ago in 2009, 3 years later...not too sure liao...

You will get your bank document, indirectly telling you the car is all yours. But technically it's not yours. You will need to return to the government by the 10 years. We don't own a car in Singapore. Belongs to bank or government.

Bank will send you a letter indicate that you have no more outstanding with them, also attached with the original car log card if you bought your car that time still have log card scheme. I think cars before 2006 confirmed should have log card.
