I think Fuzhou is the dialect you are saying... Hock Chew (is Hokkien prenounciation of Fuzhou).

 

My mom's family is Hock chew, my dad is Hokkien.

 

Most Hock Chews are coffee shops owners in Singapore/Malaysia...

 

I still remember my 1st day in Kingergarten was a shock... coz i only speak hock chew then... teacher came to my hm and spoke to my parents that this cannot go on...coz no one understands wat i was saying...

 

And I luv cantonese songs...

 

yeah me too mostly speak hc when young but my aunt make sure i can speak mandarin too...so wasnt much a problem...
