Hi all CFE owners.

My consumption has been bad since day one...around 8.5km/l (11.7 l/100km) to 9.3km/l (10.75l/100km).

I had complained to Proton before and they had logged some data from my ecu to feedback to Msia....but nothing had been done (more than 3 mths already).

I am losing patience with them and I am thinking of going to CASE to lodge an official complain against them for cheating consumers with their official fuel consumption figures ( around 8.3l/100km). My actual consumption is about 30-40% off their official figure.

I do not drive agressively, only driver + 1 Pax + 1 4yr old child mostly. Car is stock, tyre pressure pumped slightly higher than recommended (240psi), 70% highway, running on RON 95 fuel.

Anyone here with similar problems and feeling cheated can reply or PM me. I would like to hear what you guys have to say before I proceed. Thanks!

Think it is pretty good FC since u can get about 11.7km/L. Is your Exora CPS or CFE?

oh...i read wrongly. if 11.7km/l very good sia. i also going to change air filter next. 1 mth can do 1 thing only. hehe

Hi mine is CPS..Normally gets 11km/l indeed..One factor the Exora mostly travel at night or early morning and since its cold wheather its possible..I'll be happy even it's get 10.7km/l cause of the engine output and its heavy weight

Hi there,

Just like to seek opinions on Exora turbo.

May I please get feedback from those bros who have been driving it for a while...how's the reliability and any challenges ?

I have read many background infor on this car, but best to hear from Spore folks...

In the Malaysia side, there were some faults, which some claim are resolved for the batches coming to Spore?

For a 7 seater, the price point is indeed attractive.

I am totally OK with the badge !

Thanks!

City driving or highway mostly?

do you have the habit of taking off slowly or ramming the accelerator hard to pick up speed then reach cruising then drive normally?

Get proton to do the following:

All wheel alignment

Tyre Balancing

Camper adjustment...

make them do free since they cant solve your problem...

you will surprise how impt balanced and aligned wheel are... my car kenah porthole once after i came out of service centre... heck car mileage suffer... full tank became 12.1 to 12.8km/litre usual is 14.1-14.5/litre... then cos i went on nsh and found my steering not so gd went to workshop and did the following then later on i notice my mileage back to normal le...

tyres pressure try sticking to what is stipulated

any unnecessary weight in the car that is not vital to you shld also remove and see how..

Hope you can solve soon

Driving the CFE (Exora Turbo) for about an year (before this was driving the Exora CPS for 1 and a half years).

So far good and still enjoying the ride.

Torque wise very good considering a 1.6lts full 7 Seater MPV.

Very Comfortable for long trips and very Spacious (3rd row also comfortable for 2 adults).

Initially my ride had Jerking issues which got resolved with Software update and changing of Valve (heard that new ones don't have any issues).

Warranty covered in Singapore and in Malaysia [rolleyes]

Very much worth for the price you pay.

Thanks for replying!

Tyres alignment, balancing, camber all done already. Not by Proton, they dont have the equipment to do it.

Mostly highway driving..and no agressive driving.

when the last time u align ur tyres and balance them... i do it at every 5000KM

Do you have anything in your boot? did any sound proofing? note that additional weight no matter how light we think they look will contribute in someway to your fuel economy...

Do u full blast your aircon? iirc aircon speed does affect fuel as well...

Thanks Mandrew for your reply.

You must be a satisfied customer to have returned for a second Exora MPV. Seems that I should go get a test drive to have a feel of this vehicle.

Whats interesting is the Chevrolet Orlando is also being touted at 119K now...very close to the price point of the Exora Turbo..this is 1.8L and probably makes cruising on the NS Highway a little less taxing on the engine?

The Orlando priced at $119k is the basic version, with 1 airbag only. The fuel consumption isn't fantastic as reported by owners. U would probably save on road tax and $7k by choosing the Exora. However I must say that Orlando's quality is a notch above the Exora.

The Orlando is slightly better than the CPS Exora only,All that 141hp/174nm of power is just to compensate the heavy weight of the car but I've to agree quality is slightly above Exora.Long journeys are comfortable if you maintain between 100-130kmh,Engine do strain after 145kmh.If u want good fuel economy better acceleration then take the Wish but do remember that the body structure ain't that tough and 3rd row is good for midgets.I recommend you take the Exora CFE,Not saying its perfect but comfy for 7 and power wise is adequate for cruising between 100-125kmh constant. However the acceleration is not that significant and power only comes after 2000rpm due to its heavy 1481kg.Too bad the CFE Exora standard doesn't make it say here cause its more faster than the premium version @ 1405kg.This of course due to unavailable of DVD/GPS,Auto retract wing mirrors,Fog lights,Leather seats and 3rd Row head rest. One must know that CFE found on Exora and Preve is only a single light Borg Wagner turbo not like those on Pug 5008 which rely on twin scroll turbo or the VW TSI turbo/Supercharge unit.Even the new BMW entry level 316i twinscroll turbo only produced 136hp@4350rpm/[email protected] best thing it using the ZF 8 speed auto unlike our Punch CVT which got limited to 215nm

I actually tested the Exora Bold Turbo at Ubi showroom.

The marketing manager there is very friendly and professional. He gave the pros & cons of Proton and makes you feel good as a consumer. Like his frank attitude; he did mention some of Proton's weakness, but to be frank, everyone understands them (brand equity, market share, lack of service stations in Spore)

The car is spacious- you really get a lot of $$ for the car. 109K now

Drive impressions - the turbo just makes it about bearable...cannot imagine what the feel will be w/o it. But the CVT whine when the car uses engine brake is very loud. The brake is also a tad weak. But can imagine cruising on the NS Highway, it will be fairly comfortable.

Overall, a good budget MPV to secure for a large family...if only the reliability is enhanced (re complains from the Malaysian forums etc) and the brand name built up.

I really think Exora is a good product killed poff by (1) high COE and (2) poor marketing & sales efforts.

Koreans catching up on reliability and friendly price points also does not help.

Suzuki's APV and Daihatsu's Terios 7 are also budget MPVs, although Exora is certainly more powerful anytime ! Suckers for Jap branding & reliability will however, still go for these Made in Indon rides....

Yday my car got water leaking at the upper part of the leg room front seats.. whwn I make a corner turn to the right, cold water flow out at the left leg room.. and visa versa..

Anyway encounter this before? The water flow become more and more..

Cant locate where the water coming out from.

I assume the condensate pipe disconnect the joint or somerhing. Cos the flow quite alot.post-83069-1371254127_thumb.jpg
