Mandrew 1st Gear June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 yeah i did. all they did was do another balancing. n since those r new rims n tyres, dont think it warped. appreciate your help. cos since chances of the tyres or rims being warped are slim, i am afraid that other structures in the car is causing the vibration. dampers? suspensions? watever that are connected to the wheel n steering. mayb i can borrow a set of wheels fm the shop n try. Since yours is new Rims and tyres, I'm not whether this is related.... but anyway sharing.... My 2 front Tyres are almost new as they have run less than 3k only (Both Continental CPC5 17"). When the Tyre shop at Permas Jaya carried out the Alignment, they also notified me that the Camber/Caster needs to be adjusted also. And they done that also for RM50. Just now I googled and saw a video about this so thought to share with you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5bIqr9jS94 Thanks and Regards ↡ Advertisement

Frachua Neutral Newbie June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 Hi All, My Exora CFE is going for my 40k servicing mid Jul. I scouted out the service centre in Larkin and Tebrau. Larkin which looks like managed by Proton themselves quoted RM600+. Tebrau which is a authorized service centre quoted RM800+. I intend to highlight the following issues too during this servicing since my car is into its 3rd year - Need a few cranks to start on some days. Sometimes engine started but die off like fuel pipe choked - Engine intermittently stalls when changing from D to R, and vice versa - Very strong petrol smell within the car after topping up petrol - Some belt within the bonnet compartment is making screeching noise when aircon on. I suspect this is the water pump belt, which is considered a consumables, so have to pay. Can I seek the advice from the gurus here is the price quoted above looks reasonable? Any idea what is the cost to perform the 40k servicing in SG service centre? I actually do not wish to visit the SG service centre anymore because they never seems to fixed the issues I mentioned. Keep saying no fault found. They don't even want to upgrade the firmware of the car... keep saying reset is enough... Anyway, they always get a Proton service tech from JB to come in when any issue reported... Looking forward to hearing from any of you folks! Cheers! Meganut 2nd Gear June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 I did 40k servicing at Proton Service centre not for exora for saga and viva They may change the following either at 40 or 50k servicing 1. E.O and filter 2. Gearbox oil 3. Brake Oil 4. Brake pads 5. Spark plugs 6. Power steering Oil 7. Coolant (usually at 50k depending on cars some do it at the first 40k) 8. Tyre rotation, balancing and alignment All these the workshop will see the current condition and quality of the car and parts. Not sure what other parts they might change for you. As for your car problem, sounds like a faulty ignition coil problem or a fuel pressure regulator problem www.doityourself.com/stry/7-symptoms-of-a-bad-fuel-pressure-regulator#.U7F6VikZ7qC www.doityourself.com/stry/7-symptoms-of-a-bad-fuel-pressure-regulator#.U7F-SCkZ7qD www.simple-car-answers.com/Gasoline-Smell-in-Car.html Recently im having some vibration problem when even i slow down my car with brakes applied so im reading widely and came across some of these articles. Hope it helps... do bring your car in soon due to petrol smell, might be dangerous. hope it works out Hi All, My Exora CFE is going for my 40k servicing mid Jul. Sometimes engine started but die off like fuel pipe choked Mandrew=> anything to do with the Battery? As 3yrs is almost max for the Battery life.... (same time depends on the use...) - Engine intermittently stalls when changing from D to R, and vice versa Mandrew=> seems like this is a Petrol Valve issue which they have changed for my ride last time. For some cases, this will go off after reflashing the TCU/ECU. - Very strong petrol smell within the car after topping up petrol Mandrew=> I had this similar problem which all of a sudden started after 1 year. The SC just applied some sealant at the Petrol Tap area and it disappeared. Some other members also shared the same and resolved. - Some belt within the bonnet compartment is making screeching noise when aircon on. I suspect this is the water pump belt, which is considered a consumables, so have to pay. Mandrew=> This should be the Aircon belt. A known issue also. They done some lubrication for me and it got solved. Some shared that it has to be replaced. Can I seek the advice from the gurus here is the price quoted above looks reasonable? Any idea what is the cost to perform the 40k servicing in SG service centre? Mandrew=> When I went for the 20k Service they alerted me that the 40k service is very expensive it is around SG600 plus . The Spark Plugs itself are costly.... It hink I've shared this in this forum before. The best is to do it in JB and it covers Warranty there also. My Car I took to Larkin for the ABS Sensor problem and they changed it for free under Warranty. Mandrew=> True, you must be referring to Malik who is the Proton Engg. Every time have to wait for him to come to advice. And they are scared to carry out the firmware update . Looking forward to hearing from any of you folks! Cheers!

Boleh Neutral Newbie July 4, 2014 Share July 4, 2014 Hi Francis. I did my CFE 40k servicing at Sin Ming last month. Cannot remember exact amount but it is around low $300. I did check that the 60k will be around $1200. So I may go to JB to do my $60k. My ride is registered Jully 2012, think its about 1 month before yours. My stock car battery died on me last month after almost 2years. Had to jumpstart and drive to workshop to change battery.

Littleboo 2nd Gear July 25, 2014 Share July 25, 2014 Singapore Registered Proton car can claimed warranty at the service center at Proton JB ? Proton JB accept it ??? Will the waranty for Proton Singapore void if we service at Proton JB ?
Mandrew 1st Gear July 25, 2014 Share July 25, 2014 (edited) Singapore Registered Proton car can claimed warranty at the service center at Proton JB ? Proton JB accept it ??? Will the waranty for Proton Singapore void if we service at Proton JB ? Just done my 25k Service in Larkin JB on 23rd July (2 days back ). Actually my car need to do the Service only every 10k but since I'm having 2 long trips coming soon decided to do it after 5k. Normal Basic Servicing, Engine Oil changed and Filters changed.... Together with that I raised the very Old complain which I lodged at TTS during my 2nd Service that is loud sound when the AC kicks in. TTS just Oil it and told me everything was fine but the issue persists. In Larkin, they changed few components under the Warranty and now it is fine. Even if TTS would have agreed to change, I would have to wait for the Proton guy to come and take a look (for that I've to leave the Car there for a day) and then they will order the parts and then have to bring the car back another day for replacement. So it is very troublesome. At Larkin, they have there own Parts Centre so no need to wait and they are Proton Service Centre. I reached there at 8am and got back my Car at 10:30am and got a 3 piece Complementary dish gift from them also (as they used the PETRONAS Oil). Before this, I went there as the ABS light was showing up. So they changed the Sensors also under warranty. I had 2 minor scratches in my car and asked their inhouse Painter to give me some paint of the same color so that I can touch up. Instead he done free touchup for me . So overall happy to bring my ride there. Total bill this time for Servicing was RM333. So my Singapore Car is getting Warranty in JB...... Mandrew 1st Gear July 25, 2014 Share July 25, 2014 Wow, did not realize the Proton Service Center at Larkin is so good.... and efficient. Worth it...... If you are bringing your ride for Service try to reach there soon after 7:30am. Eventhough they say open at 8am, they usually starts at 7:45am. This time when I reached at 8am I was already 6th in the queue and by 10am they already put up a board saying Full for the day.
Frachua Neutral Newbie July 25, 2014 Share July 25, 2014 Hi All, I went to Larkin Service Centre on 21 Jul. While I aimed to reach before 8am, a series of events and wrong turn means I only reach around 9.30am. The recep lady was very kind to take in my case although a sign is shown that their slots are full. I just have to wait till 4.30pm.... However, they somehow put my car in priority and got it returned to me by 12.30am... Mind you, it was for 40k servicing so many parts have to be changed... I am really impressed!!! Here is a break down of cost I paid: Air Filter: RM35.51 Labour: RM120.00 (subjected to taxes) Syntium 1000 15W/50 4L: RM195.00 Oil Filter: RM12.22 Radiator Coolant: RM31.00 Brake Fluid: RM21.84 Antibac: RM19.80 Complete Fuel System Cleaner: 35.71 Tutela CVT Oil: RM200 Total (after tax): RM678.30 I complained about difficulty starting and call stalling when changing D to R (and vice versa). They only did a reset of the software... Overall, very satisfied with the servicing and turnaround time. Of course, very happy with the price! Hope this helps! :)
