Tks, I am a high volume user of web base whatsapp. So far to me this app is one of the best for instant communications. Telegram messenger seems to be getting popular, therefore , I feel the need to get ready in case my customers starts using this app.

I am think of using Telegram messenger to communicate with my customers. Need adv from current users regrading the pros against whatsapp.

Depending what messenger are u communicating. Chit chat ok. Business contract talk no as any messengers in whatsapp, sms, wechat, line chat cannot be used as Legal communications in Legal Contract. Email is a Legal. Although chat group is not legal but any offences/misrepresentation still can be sue.

telegram is good in the sense that chat history is automatically restored when you change phone.

no troublesome steps to backup the folder then copy into new phone before reinstalling or iTunes backup.

that said, if my customers use mandarin with me, i will not reply to them in english.

similarly, if they use whatsapp, i will not think of using telegram to communicate with them.

i am not apple. i don't "force" people to do it my way.

Just download it. If someone wants to contact you there, they will.

Who told you this? Contract - whether verbal or on whatsapp is still valid.

Whatsapp has a similar function now. You can set a daily backup to google drive.

if my business partner renege on his obligation, but i have a whatsapp to prove my claim, that means legally it is of no use?

so if I screenshot that chat history and then send it as an attachment over email to my legal folks to pursue, will that constitute as "legal communications in legal contract" ?

ok thanks.

also, whatsapp uses storage space on the phone to store messages, telegram doesn't. its all stored in the cloud.

telegram also have secret chat function, but it doesn't show whether your recipient has read the msg already or not.

personally i prefer telegram, but whatsapp is more prevalent

Users Might Soon Be Able To Recall WhatsApp Messages
Rishabh Jain  International Business TimesDecember 15, 2016

WhatsApp's upcoming update might bring along a long-awaited feature — the ability to recall sent messages.

If you have ever sent a message to the wrong person or phrased a message wrongly and then cursed your luck, this update can save you. WABetaInfo posted Wednesday on Twitter that the company has added the ability to edit and revoke sent messages, demonstrating the feature in a video.

WABetaInfo further claims that the feature is available in the WhatsApp Beta for iOS 2.17.1.869.

The feature was apparently disabled by default and the revocation and editing privileges are under development. Once it is available, you will be able to edit or revoke only recent messages but not old messages (the time frame was not specified by WABetaInfo). If a revoked message has attachments such as text, image, audio or video files, the files will be deleted from the recipient’s phone too, if and when it is connected to the internet.

While the iOS update version 2.17.1.869 includes major fixes, the rumored feature adding the ability to revoke sent messages might be its most important feature. There has, however, been no official confirmation of the existence of the feature from WhatsApp.
