not even a single rolex? haha sure have a few rolexes :D

Many of the super rich, super atas people don't wear rolex one lah... In fact they despise the brand, they feel that it is very "new rich".

Then again you have some old rich, like this scion of a commercial property group, who swears by his vintage explorer 2, manufactured the year he was born.

So there you go.

Those are trend followers. (Hair stylist, designers, and folks with such background make the bulk)

I see RMs and APs on their wrists most often.

Those then are the new rich or the 2nd gen who had it all from day one.

They despise Rolex becos it is too common or "man inthe street" even Bengish as they would put it.

Whatever it is, Rolex is definitely not new rich at all.

In fact on the contrary, it is more old rich and no rich becos everyone has one.

it has history, it has heritage, it has old school charm and tradition

It is an ah pek brand, totally (no one should lie to themselves otherwise)

It is the self made man's watch.

Take note of your rich silverspoon friends next time

The try-hard-to-be-in type wears AP, RM.

The more refine ones wear a classic PP

The old school more down to earth ones will still sport a Rolex.

Yes not just any Rolex but possibly a hard to get vintage or an evergreen classic which is no longer in the shops. Or it could be a gift from the old man.

At the end of the day, the watch can only carry the man that far.

But the man, he carries the watch, period.

So you wearing your Daytona more or your Safari more?

I feel that first Rolex has a most value to me, so I want to keep it till I grow old and look back at my first Rolex. May not be the most expensive, may not the most trendy but have the most value for me

i used to hate rolex - was really into those innovative and skeleton watches. To me, Rolex watches were not interesting enough.

then along the way started to get sick of those watches and found rolex classic and classy; designs that can withstand the test of time. I still enjoy staring at a piece of RM and skeleton watch, but cannot bring myself to buy any of them anymore (okay, unless it's a real good deal). tried to look at panerai and AP...... but someone I know ruined it for me. story for another day.

agree with you the rolex is for the self-made man. One who truly understands the value of money. I notice this from a number of my friends.

always been wanting to buy a Daytona, even after owning one Sub-LV and Pam.

However, just don understand why Daytona cannot increase its size to 41mm...

between TT and SS Daytona...which one will you go for?

BTW, it is real hard to find a preowned TT Daytona...

how much would it be?

nope, in fact its very easy to get TT daytona.

i would got for SS instead of TT daytona.

a preown TT daytona would range from 9k+ to 12k+ depending on condition and series
