the actual tire is extremely thick, in malaysia they regroove used tires and sell as new

i don't think such a small scratch will be any problem

True in indon they also do the same think, when the grid no more, they regroove again to make new grid but this is not safe, higher chance tyre to explode especially heavy load or high speed

Yup, no need to save on tyres.

 

It's like the PSU in our CPUs, people can spend $500 on graphics cards but buy cheap lousy PSU. Bth.

Sidewall got wire ah?

Normally don't have. But from experience, this little chip not going to cost his life I guess. Mine got a cut within the groove line, still good to go for 10k km before I change out. By the way, then my tyre was XM1.

I guess it also depends on how u drive. If u dun push it hard....maybe it wud b safer but if u like to push it hard....better change cos e sidewall takes a beating in hard cornering...braking... n acceleration.
