That is for sure......

... he should be deployed elsewhere... Education is a crucial sector which have very serious repercussions to the Country for generations to come...

Just a suggestion - Why not Government gives him $5M to manage start-ups as a testing ground.... in this way, the maximum exposure to our country is $5M better than messing with the education of our young generations...

U are right.. our country is rich ma... whoever pays the salary to this general is our country ma - not us...

I find it funny that a general to be appointed as a perm sec. of education. Defence also a better choice - maybe that side full of generals already.... no more vacancy

can provide a few of these " Scholars" contact numbers and feel free to check with on their social studies, history and English scores... act like damn big fart, thinking Singapore's future depends on them to lead.

really can't understand why MOE don't inject more funds onto local students that needed help, rather than feed these locust [mad]

perm sec are those lao jiao/ old hands who steer the various ministries with experience even though we have a few new parachuted ministers as vital chess pieces by those grand masters.

Don't play play with perm sec. Those are our plan B. And there is no plan C.

If the perm sec follows the same way as ah saw heading smrt during those few years, a couple of old men raised from graves also cannot right the ship to its proper course.

There is no need to understand. The decision makers in MOE does not care the s--t try to care for the local students. Just that, the locusts are more important for now.

other places all fill up leow mar ... [:p]

every year, our SAF should offer an alternative career option to those military personnel who retires every year regardless of rank... to join the UN peacekeeping force.... deploy them to Baghdad, Libya etc....

I like to see how their daily army training helps them to cope with real war situations.... nothing beats real-life experiences... its just whether they have the courage to face these challenges. These are regulars who should have been properly trained to get involved with real-wars professionally and prepare to sacrifice their life whenever the Country calls for.

Up to now... our army is like a paper army.... not fully tested in real situations yet..

In this way, I am proud to say Singapore is directly contributing to World Peace through real action.... not hiding behind the US providing logistics support, medical supports in Afghanistan, fighting pirates in Indian Ocean... what else?

Still, our RICH country will foot their salaries...
