Seems like there is real possibility for a $1 COE !! I sense the dealers know what is going to happen. Else they will not come out with the 12bids strategy now to seal in suckers for 6months!

Ron Lim, general manager of Tan Chong Motors, said: "If the continental mix or the luxury mix are clearing models at such a fast rate as what they have mentioned, they could've cleared the stock much earlier than next February. Given that, there could be a window period where COE might correct more aggressively and earlier than expected February or March."

ron wil soon find eggs on his face when he sees new batch of A1, A3, A4, Q3, Passat, jetta, 114, 314, ABC class come with 1.4T engines with sub 130bhp.

Should it be the other way around? [:)]

As in:

There is equality in (true) communism. Everyone gets the same regardless of who he is and what he puts into the system.

There is justice in (true) democracies. Everyone has the chance to be lifted to the same heights regardless of who he is.

Nope -

the basic ethos of communism is

"To each according to his needs, from each according to his abilities"

There will be more creativity in terms of the tuning programs which can upgrade the torque to more than 250 Nm with a horsepower of 129.999 bhp. [laugh]

Very silly for car buyers to bite with such statement.

Most likely car buyers will be asked to top up is coe is above $60,000???

To sign on a 6months deal, where by the AD will NEVER lose money?

If COE above $60,000, AD will have no obligation to deliver the car.

Only when COE below $60,000 then AD will deliver car with the profit?

Using current car price COE of $80,000+.... This AD reduce the car price by $20,000 and stipulate only will deliver cars if Coe is below $60,000.

ZERO risk to the AD.......but full risk to the car buyers for locking in their deposits for 6months without the chance to brake contract.....if a better deal comes along from another AD.

If COE prices are above S$60,000, buyers can choose to not purchase the car.

I never believe in signing blank cheques. Really screwing 1self on the dotted line.

don't say conti car. Even the Hyundai i30 (original) crdi/turbo diesel already 120hp with 260nm of torque from 2k rpm or even slightly lower.

In the end, CAT A still get screwed.

Scully Cat A = turbo diesels, Cat B = Petrol / turbo Petrol

But noticed that diesels are in with conti & Koreans.

The Japs more with Hybrids, with exception to Honda.

They have idtec. 1.5 Jazz. 100ps with 200nm. Think also have have Civic 1.6, 120ps with 240nm or something. But noted they are manual models.

Honda boasted to have made 1st production all aluminium diesel engine. Matter of time b4 their TD models will have 5 speed auto too.

I look forward to that day... Really

As long as we have a pay and pay (but refuse to spend) govt, that day is very distant but i can see some changes in the horizon but not fast enough.
