I already replied somewhere, that in the beginning of my evaluation that Mazda3 and Altis as equal,  good points aside,  the Mazda3 has more convincing bad points to me over Altis.

Your answer still dodges my original question; what criteria influenced your selection of an Altis? The question is not "why do you choose Altis over Mazda3".

I have too many criteria.   Here are some.

1.  MIT and not MIJ

2.  No C&C and small players

3.  Transparent service cost and schedule.  Service packages will be deemed disadvantage.

4. Technical competency in servicing.

5.  Not new technology.

and I had to be reminded that I will need to test drive.  [laugh]

P.S.  Knowledgeable and responsible SE also very important.

Ya bro I know what I meant. You should also talk to the korea car owner and hear whats their review too. I took my first uber ride in a sienta, the car was faulty n I have to get down. On the road, I see quite a no of toyota car breakdown too n heard from toyota user complaining abt their qc too.

And if space, fc, reliability is the concern. Honda vezel will be another good choice.

No offend, im just sharing my views

Cheers

haha. will do. i do go to diff threads to read and ask question before deciding to buy back a toyota.

i didnt lots of calculation before deciding on some model which will get back a better parf value when u scrap.

if i rem m3 basic model and premium mode have price diff as well. btw i got mine free uograde with everything in at ard 100k range. the pricing and packages will change based on the coe and the demand.

no matter what u drive, make the most of it and enjoy it as much as possible.

Should be expecting BM to introduce facelifted Altis soon. Key is in Thailand and Malaysia, all variants come standard with 7 airbags and ESC stability control. Will be a huge improvement in safety from outgoing pre-facelift model if this carries over to local models, hope BM makes the right decision on this one. Current Altis' 2 airbag and now ESC is a sore point in terms of safety compared to competition.

It is demand n supply plus competition. Civic 1.6 iirc is 2 airbag. Same price range. Unless sales of altis loses to the korean brands then i suppose BM would consider the 7 airbag config. Otherwise we are happily buying current model ehy they compromise on their profit margin.

Fair enough. let's put airbag count aside, Civic 1.6 has ESC, so hopefully we can expect new Altis to come with it? Competition ya.

Actually i agree with you.

It is better to give the consumer the choice if different equipment levels. Now choices are "bare" and "creature comfort" to me. Seriously only frature on elegance vs classic i find practical is the LED headlight. The rest i can do without eg electric adjust seats.

Compare with taiwan they have 4 grades accoding to the videos i saw. Top spec has much more safety features.

As consumer then we can decide uf i eant to go for badic setup, or more features that fulfill my needs / wish at additional cost.

Besides no.1, these reasons are, fundamentally, related to familiarity, trustworthiness and perception of reliability, don't you think?

The problem is that BM knows they can get away with it.

It is always a no in the context of your opinions and perceptions.

Well, whatever you say. I forgot about the topic and I don't intend to pursue it any more.

Then you should not have replied in the first place.

Then you should not have replied in the first place.

I replied because your given reasons, which you claimed were not related to reliability and what not, were really essentially "I trust Borneo Motors and/or Toyota and feel I can rely on them" along with point 5 being "It's familiar with nothing new". I take it you have more reasons that you didn't intend to share, which perhaps are more unconventional.

But... let's please leave it at this. I don't intend to start up another popcorn festa.

If you re-read your own postings,  perhaps you may understand.

In your initial postings,  your opinions and perception always revolves around the CAR and the BRAND i.e. you put the CAR and BRAND in front.

Which is why I said that you are entitled to your own perception and that I am outside of whatever you perceived.

A long pause from you after my posting on that few criteria,  you continue to try to indicate that my criterias are the same as your indication of familiarity, trustworthiness and perception of reliability in which I reply to you it is no, based on your opinions and perception i.e. because you had put the CAR and BRAND in front.

In this posting, Borneo Motors was suddenly "dropped in" and "Borneo Motors" and/or "Toyota" was used to substantiate the continuing perceptions and opinions.

Seriously,  if i really put the CAR and BRAND and Value,  I would probably end up getting from a PI.

I leave it to you to see how the opinions and perceptions in the postings have changed.
