Kurty Supercharged January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 (edited) tagging an old topic. would like to know how to further improve the braking distance. especially for those cases whereby you need sudden E brake.. everything is stock, using bendix metal king brake pad. tyre, bought this year is it better to go for slotted rotor for this case? I don't know if its a trend nowadays.. drivers like to sudden stop during bends, up slope.. Edited January 5, 2017 by Kurty ↡ Advertisement
Wt_know Hypersonic January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 (edited) high quality high performance tyres improve braking far more better than simi slotted/drilled rotors ... Edited January 5, 2017 by Wt_know

It's free.

Already doing that but inevitably, there will be panic occasions.. Hence wanna know how to improve the braking response.
Buadongdong Twincharged January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 Yeah. Already doing that but inevitably, there will be panic occasions.. Hence wanna know how to improve the braking response. Try keeping the weight of the car as light as you can. Less inertia forces on the car would mean the car will stop earlier.

I don't know if its a trend nowadays.. drivers like to sudden stop during bends, up slope.. I'm using slotted now. Honestly, not much difference for normal usage. Difference is more apparent on the track under repeated hard braking. A more direct (and more expensive) way is to upgrade your calipers and brake disc. But again, I don't find it useful for normal driving. Best way is just to change pads and tyres. And if rotors are old, change to new ones (don't grind them).

I guess nothing much can be done, unless I go for bigger rotor and calliper, which probably involves upsizing of rims.

Tire play very big part too. ↡ Advertisement
