SGCMHello 4th Gear April 1, 2018 Share April 1, 2018 Try multi storey carpark waxing vendors. They should be cheap. Waxing is only to shine for a few days to smoke potential buyers when selling your car..... it’ll have swirl marks though.... cheap mah. For DIY, any wax is wax, same. Real shine is ceramic coating, or 1 class lower, glass coating.

Waxing is only to shine for a few days to smoke potential buyers when selling your car..... itâll have swirl marks though.... cheap mah. For DIY, any wax is wax, same. Real shine is ceramic coating, or 1 class lower, glass coating. If you want some quick wax that are easily available try meguair ultimate quick wax or smth more durable is Sonax brilliant shine a spray sealant. Both give superb results. And it's not true that waxing keep your car shiny for few days. There's a lot that goes into a shine of car. A immaculate condition paintwork should be almost free of swirls not not judged by how shiny it is. All cars look shiny unless it's matte. And wax do play apart not all wax are the same. There are many different types of blend. Why do you think prices are different. Because ingredient and quality of wax is different and more importantly the skills of the applicator. Glass coating are totally different. And ceramic coating and glass coating are not all that different. Not really in class above or lower. It still boils down to quality of the coating and skills of installer. Wax and coatibg gives very different look.

Fett 2nd Gear April 2, 2018 Share April 2, 2018 get those spray wax from autobacs or even like mustafa or petrol stations, they r all basically the same, purpose is to slightly protect paintwork, yes it gives a shine but just for a few days. u want real shine u need to go for a good proper polishing/paint correction, and then seal with a sealant or paste wax. Even those glass coating or ceramic coating wont be shiny enuf if they dont do proper paint correction before

Corinth57 Clutched August 15, 2019 Share August 15, 2019 Hi all, just wondering, if car is washed with water only (no soap), is it okay to wax it? Or is it a necessity to wash with soap first?

Ct3833 Supersonic August 16, 2019 Share August 16, 2019 (edited) Use hand. Exercise. Thanks for sharing. I decided to polish and wax my very battled COE Altis, basically it is anything done is better than none. So I bought a used Black and Decker polisher to do a quick and dirty job to save my effort. This car is hardly washed, once in 3 months maybe. Parked under hot sun all day long, quite a lot of bird poo at times because of the location the car is parked. Simply zero water beading type, when rain the whole car surface is wet with 100% water retention, no shine on the surface at all, so I claybar the body once, polish off the water mark and scratches, the following day then I wax it. Not perfect but at least can see the car smiling. Edited August 16, 2019 by Ct3833
