Went down TC at ubi, and my SE let me test drive the 1.2turo QQ. Comparing my 2.0 vs the 1.2 ride.

Drive:

1.2 pick up is significant much slower and would need to have more rev to move the car. The turbo in 1.2 will kick in when you rev btw 2.75-3rpm. Will give u the torque n power need to move around/over taking. The car need to be push to feel punchy, but because this is a CVT gear box such build make me feel disconnected as each rev for turbo to kick in, I don't feel connected to the car. 2.0 is more smooth despite CVT, I guess it's the turbo charge that give the different feeling. 1.2 even climbing a gradual slope would need a rev of 2rpm, guess the weight and power ratio can be improved still? Consider UK horse power is much higher? Take note when the turbo kick in, you feel a surge of power to push the car, I'm not sure if you are comfortable as it may make the ride not so comfortable with small g-force for passenger.

Function/interior,

- 1.2 has semi leather seat/2.0 full leather seat

- 1.2 Car boot is full UK version/ No spare tyre but extra boot space. 2.0 has spare tyre.

- 1.2 has no sky roof

- 1.2 has start-stop (tested during test drive, not that responsive and doesn't mean every traffic light will kick in, still pending check on the system as my SE explained )

-1.2 Eco drive for fuel saving/ No auto wiper/light? (If u all confirm let me know, forgot ask SE)

-1.2 the dash board computer has more function then 2.0 (need to ask TC can improve those 2.0 owner)

Exterior,

-1.2 is running on 17inch tyre, 2.0 is 19inch tyre

-1.2 has not roof trails

My 2 cents, with the price btw the two car is ard 15k, the 1.2 will compete with Honda Vezel/HR-V, Madza CX 3. But I still have the emphasis on getting used how the drive which user have to get used when turbo kick in. 2.0 which will be to compare like cars like Sportage/Tucson.

People going for 1.2 will find size bigger for 1.5 car in boot and seat space, as for 2.0 will find qq slightly smaller in terms of car boot.

More QQ on the road would also mean currently owner have more chances for better upgrade and better spec, I hope.

Test drove this 1.2L turbo variant.

Exterior wise, shared the same chassis as its 2.0L variant. Fantastic. Love the look of it.

Performance wise, expect nothing from it. Drives like a typical 1.5L-1.6L.

you can hear the engine roar at rpm above 3. This is quite a turn off

spec and features wise, it's very good. Almost same as the 2.0L variant. Comes with auto rain sensor (confirm) and headlight (halogen) with led day running light, leather seat, push start, keyless entries, electric parking brake, cruise control and even manual gear shift ( if u wish to play with the gear change) note: not paddle shift though. Others like infotainment screen, audio steering wheel control, reverse camera are in as well.

interior finishing wise. It's really classy. I love the feel of it totally. No cheap plastic feeling at all.

Luxurious feel throughout.

Annoyingly, this is the only car in Nissan lineup that doesnt comes with free 5 years servicing. Only 3 free servicing is given. SE cited the competitive pricing as a reason.

2c take.

Running cost aside, At about 125k, I find that it may not exactly be a better deal as compared to Subaru forester 2.0L-premium which is going for 129k with 5 yrs free servicing (max of 12 times) given.

I'm also concern with the 1.2L turbo engine over the long run to lug this 1.3ton around. Can it take the stress over the long run?

I noticed the 2 triangular 'plates' mounted beside the gear shifter is pretty annoying with some plastic creaking sound when goes through hump or uneven road. That is probably the only part in the car that feels plastic. Do you guys experience this as well?

I agreed on the servicing, but only seem like Subaru is throwing their free servicing. Other AD not really doing the same thing. Even both Nissan and Subaru under TC, but deals are quiet different. I do know Nissan have service package for 2 years at an average of 300plus per servicing.

I have doubt also if 1.2 turbo can withstand especially if the start-stop technology kicks in often duno will dmg the engine. (I know u can turn off that function)

during my test drive, at no point in time was the start-stop activated despite me stopping at several traffic lights.

I'm still deliberating if I shd go for this car. Tough call.

The I stop functions on capacitor, do not believe will damage engine in long run.

No sound during drive and normally my audio is off or low volume.

Understand from SE the start-stop don't kick in always. Think they sorting out that function still.

Depends on ur budget n what ride U going for.

Cat A this car is the spacious for 2nd row seat n with decent car boot.

Cat B - You will be spoilt for choice.

Under from SE the start-stop don't kick in always. Think they sorting out that function still.

Hi All,

I am wondering how long does TC take to deliver your new car after securing the COE?

Thanks.

It depends on the stock availability. For QQ, you may need to wait for few months I supposed? Again depending on the colour you choose.

How about for existing stock?

TIA.

So far, I haven't had experienced any additional sounds... Will monitor and update if I do find anything.

Just an update on my windscreen replacement, Tan Chong made an urgent order of my QQ 2.0 windscreen with rain sensor from Nissan Europe and air-freight the windscreen over to Singapore, arrived in Singapore yesterday. I will only be free on Saturday to get it replaced.

I don't think the 1.2 version has auto rain sensor as the 1.2 version windscreen doesn't have the autorain sensor like the 2.0 model.

Usually quite fast, within 1-2 weeks. Has your SE asked you to go settle all your paperwork/payment yet?
