We, Singaporeans are a freaking lame bunch.

Got so much time to waste on some silly comments.

Please lah, there are much more important issues at hand like KNN how to stop Singaporeans from leaving their country for good and how to preserve our culture for the next generations.

Sibei boh liao.

If bored or stressed can just come into MCF and relax lah. Aiyohh..

Wahahahaha

ahem, hearing you talk abt $$, cigars and watches, not exactly a walk in the park, if you noe wat i mean...lol [grin][grin]

Jesslyn Tan was a contestant for 2013 Miss Universe Singapore pageant and the good thing she was not crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2013.

in my opinion, this is worse than BOOMZ, and many times more...

in the very least, she chose to. Enough said.

If she does something right and if the media chooses to pick up on it, it's your prerogative to bash the MP for it.

Just like if it's CSM in the same exact situation, you'll find a whole lot of cheerleaders going gaga over it if the media picks up on it.

Call a spade a spade. There are good MPs and they hv their sincerest interests in their heart for the citizens.

I know Indranee and Lily and yes, they are good people. SO let's not look beyond their act as shown and decipher it as something sinister. Give credit where it is due!

Lily, we know, has done her fair share and other good work behind closed doors nobody knows.

So, please kindly see with unbiased eyes. As much as there has been a whole lot of holes in the current regimen, let's not tar the entire team like that.

Thanks and have a good day

Scoring political point for sure. But think she is quite well received in the estate cos she is often there. Some of her MPS went on beyond 2-3am.

Honestly, many MPS that I am aware of goes beyond 1 am. Just that the MPs didn't publicize it. In other words, Singaporeans either got many problems or the gahment gave Singaporeans many problems. LOL

maybe it's because she doing job of 2 MPs ?

on seperate note, this uncle also quite emo. say a bit nia want to resign ^_^ Many of you might disagree with me, but I find what she said about uncle not very jek ark mah ..... Far worse people out there on daily basis. People need to just chillllll

yup, guess her workload just increased which may be way she decided to quit her well paying job as a partner of a large law firm. But even before she has to wear 2 hats, she was working quite hard. Maybe cos there is a larger proportion of needy residents and older folks in her area. Some old folks really like her cos she speak Cantonese & pretty patient to listen to their long 'grandmother' stories.

I also share your sentiment about the uncle's reaction...especially since some of his customers probably have more holes in their shirt, etc. than his. But he has every right to react as he did and what the beauty queen said is really uncalled for.

To be honest, I feel such things should not even be made into any kind of news in the 1st place.

true. Think being MP here, be it MIW or Opp, is a difficult one. My guess is, many cases involved very minor things such as parking/traffic offenses appeal, don't to go NS appeal, etc...something I feel is beyond the control of MPs....or even ministers. Edited by Silver_blade

At least, people have the chance to meet the MP in a meeting organised on regular basis. [thumbsup]

In our neighbouring countries, no such arrangement... the "MP" is seen only during election, then rest of the time donno doing what.

Honestly I feel its really the grassroots leader who does all these kind of things. The last time there was an event at the coffeeshop near my block and it was the grassroots leaders and coffeeshop owner who stopped people from entering the coffeeshop cuz the MP was coming. From what I know the MP did not ask them to stop people from patronizing the shop at that time.

purchase chainmail armor(which protects the shirt from snagging) for the stall helper and post on facebook

Its either the MP allows or disallows the grassroot ppl to publicise the event.

Ground rules on not having such publicities can be laid by the MP for the gr pple to follow. Who's running the show? MP or gr pple? Personally I do feel that when the MP "silently" allows such PR happen could well mean he/she wants the 'good' PR but when things turn sour it's convenient to let the gr pple take the blames.

MPs are also aunties agonies?....

Also, sometimes ordinary folks are victimised by red-tapes / inflexible rules etc and they have no choice but to trouble the MPs for help. In the first place if the rules were more realistic and red-tapes were cut down, maybe there will be less folks needing MPs' help.

Hard for the MPs to control these grassroots people la. My experience was that there were politics within these groups even and everyone has got different ideas of what to do.

Of course, politics is never meant to be easy but some basic controls are really essential, without that, it can leads to more problems. [sweatdrop]

Exactly!

We now have a society of young people of no moral values! Am very sad to know that.... [shakehead]

Why you are called Jman888 in MCF ? [laugh]

Maybe its due to poor upbring, or other reasons. The offender in this case humiliated the uncle. The case can be used by the MP, or whoever cares for such bad behaviours, to teach the offender and like-minded people a strong lesson. What we saw was just words of sayang / encouragement for the victimised uncle, which is not a bad thing, but more could have be done without missing the opportunity to deal witn the root cause.

Next time when you see xmm being bullied, will you just sayang her but let the bully get away? [sweatdrop]

The comments here are not directed specifically at any individual / MP, but at the manner in which the root cause has not been sufficiently dealt with.

in cantonese, glassloot leaders are equivalent to LKY.

Lan Kar Yeow... -_-

Does LKY have a similar meaning to Tok Dai Giok (carry big foot)?? [grin]
