Smeagol 2nd Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 the Honda Civic 2.0 has served me well and good for 7 years, thinking of an SUV that is affordable given the high COE now.... imagine I only paid $92K for my Civic in 2008 and I am selling it for 43K now.... Yes.. I also traded in my 2006 ford focus (bought second hand for 30k in April 2010, right before the crazy coe shot up), now left with slightly more than 1 year my PI offer to take in for 13k.. that was the main reason why I decided to change to Vezel too. Really excited about my first Honda ↡ Advertisement
Smeagol 2nd Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 (edited) Any bros here who bought accessories from Taobao to decorate their Vezel can recommend car workshops to install them? Although my ride isn't here yet, already poisoning myself with some stuff I plan to put in the car. Very much set on installing the chrome finishing around the windows and rear door handles: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.259.Cq0sDf&id=42355915036&abbucket=20 As well as the boot cover: http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.15-b.w4011-9207026869.319.9219Mi&id=42065534101&rn=3f5eb873c06c9a07efde97a6db0a6e99 Other KIV items include the chrome finishing on the front and rear fog lights: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013.1.20141003.5.4ToBpb&scm=1007.10011.4564.0&id=42059764004&pvid=aaa1ac2c-26e3-42f0-acaf-17e56cc90ec7 and this custom 'day' fog light (not sure LTA compliant or not too): http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.4-b.w4004-9976970442.64.UwAuLQ&id=42979156793&abbucket=_AB-M130_B3&acm=03131.1003.1.6592&aldid=3wlYo4J8&abtest=_AB-LR130-PV130_1088&scm=1003.1.03131.ITEM_42979156793_6592&pos=22 In any case, anyone with a good workshop which charges reasonably for the installation of these taobao extras? Dino-Lee 4th Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 (edited) I have just gotten my COE at $62,002 this afternoon, all thanks to a wonderful and efficient salesperson from Mister Cars Pte Ltd. He was always there to advise me and had never pressured me into this commitment for the Honda Vezel. In fact, he even assured me that he will guaranteed delivery of the car to me before CNY. I also had a reasonable offer from him for my trade in of my 7 years Honda Civic 2.0 at the same time. All in all, everything went so smoothly and I had only transferred the required deposit to him with less than 1 hour to the closing bidding time of the COE at 4pm today. My family is looking forward to the collection of my new car next week :) Any current Vezel owners have lobang for me to trade in my new rims and tyres, I am thinking of changing it to a 17" or is it possible to have 18" with low profile tyres? I will be hunting for Mugen accessories, if bros have lobang, please share with me too :) Thank you very much. Hi bro, if you are interested in taiwan rims (RM), they have a big collection at Cheng An Da, @kaki bukit. You can goggle them and find out more. I have change mine to 17" and trade in my existing 16" vezel rims. BTW, your PI should also have a tyre and audio WS that they will normally recommend. You can select and they will get it change for you even before you collect your car. Not forgetting solar film as well. mistercars 1st Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 (edited) Frankly speaking, I was very happy with the final price once the COE bidding closed at 4pm today. My final car price was $5k lower than the original price quoted before COE bidding :p lols...... I was quoted $120,888 with a capping of the COE at $67,000, pressure from me to increase it from $65,000 :p.... My final price is $115,890 after deducting the rebate :) heehee...... Thanks a lot to Mister Cars ! haha, wrong leh. 120k coe no cap because it was guaranteed delivery. It's the rebate level that I increased to 67k for you because of pressure from you, otherwise my rebate normally is at 65k. Meaning if coe drop below 67k, you get dollar for dollar. lol. 65k coe bid cap was for the other 118k offer. If you went with that, then at least I can make a bit more. haha. Thanks once again. haha Edited February 4, 2015 by mistercars
mistercars 1st Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Btw, anybody keen in genuine Mugen or Modulo kit ah? Cost price for 1st person. "Guinea" haha. So we can use your kit to create cheaper kits for the others. lol...
Dino-Lee 4th Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Personally i am just getting used to the road noise. If new smooth road it is ok. But old rough roads.... Guess can't have everything...beautiful body..nice 2 door look, good performance and consumption. Abit of a blind spot around the side mirrors so have to be careful when turning. Also..always remember to handover the keys when leaving the car if passing it to another driver as the car can still drive until the driver press the stop button then the engine stops. Had to take a cab to take the key which was with me to the car recently. Other than this engine should stop if the key is not within afew metres of it, its really convenient to be able to open and start the car with keys in the pocket. Did some sound proofing on the doors and bonnet...left out the firewall and floor as hesitant about the extra weight. I think for Vezel Black is Brillant Black..so its glossy. The silver also good not dull. I took the white as didnt know what the other 2 colours look like on the car...but white looks good too. No idea on PI as its the first time i am getting thu a PI too. Guess look as the previous posted list of where everyone been buying from and bargain around. Personally not a hybrid fan. The fuel consumption is good enough for petrol. Hybrid i am not sure as one car guy i met told me there is a motor to consider and also the battery..so some extra cost considerations in future....but the gear shift is cool! I find the engine is a bit noisy as well compare to my old sylphy. How did your sound proofing perform? Any noticeable drop in noise? However the power in vezel is just fantastic. It will just pick u and gooo.....

Dino-Lee 4th Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 My ride will be reaching 5K servicing next week. As my WS do not carry W30 EO, I have to purchase outside seperately. They will be charging $60 for labor cost, which I think it is expensive but no choice as I do not wish to void the warranty. Shorlisted 2 EO as below; liqui moly and x-rev. For x-rev, they give free zero friction additive to be added, which i do not think it is necessary for a new car. Any bro recommendation which i should choose? I asked for discount on total fee b4 and was given without hesitation, mayb u can ask for discount, might have. I very much like to furnish some facts that during different servicing, WS charged me very different prices. But i have to withold for now. P&C. Am utterly confused at the moment, why no standard charges for specific jobs, why same car different client can be charged differently? I shall be calling in to test water soon, well b4 my next servicing. Else have to bring it up to PI and see if they wanna take responsibility to speak to WS. wkloh 2nd Gear February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 mazda 3 outside look nice, but inside very cramp. The space of vezel beats mazda 3 hands down, mazda 3 has the tightest space among all the 1.6 japanese sedans I have seen. Btw I am 1.8 metres tall. Rear legroom and headroom is one of the deciding factor. Correct 👍

Thanks once again. haha This sets a new precedence that car body of X model can be bought at 53k. S model at 56k. Still minimum 10k gross profit margin. And from my previous post, all adequate accessories number 1 to 4 included, especially if max 50% or 60%, 5yr tenure loan is taken. Hybrid is ard 55-58k. Not many buyers know how to play the COE rebate game, that's why mis-informed and shortchanged. Potential buyers do be informed b4 confirming yah?! COE seems to be continuing to head south, protect ourselves with high rebate levels or just commit to body price and pay for COE whatever it turns out to be. COE belongs to us owners to depreciate over the years,CEVs are meant for govt to pass savings to owners, ARF belongs to us to get back rebates in future, not to line others' pockets. Mean no offence to anybody, buyer or seller. Just sharing from what i learnt from my experience and simple calculations. Kar_lover Supercharged February 4, 2015 Share February 4, 2015 Why not consider a Sylphy or Qashqai 1.2T? Erm Sylphy looks slightly uncle to me although i would rank it above altis. Qashqai maybe can consider although psychologically 1.2L is a bit hard for me to accept (especially for a SUV-look vehicle) although it is TC (performance figures lags behind Mazda 3). And i dislike the name - the "cash" part sounds very tacky haha ↡ Advertisement
