They took a risk by selling him to Leverkusen last season. They can't block his move I was told as technically, the buy back clause can only be triggered by them next season.

Now I am told, it's down to Can, move to Pool or wait for Bayern to get him back next season.

Separately, am told Van Gaal will be announced as Man U manager later today.

Then, hopefully Can will be our 1st signing :)

How's Lallana deal going on so far?

Thanks, bros for the updates :)

Definitely better future for can in bpl.. hope sammi can convince him privately.. haha

But perhaps he is seeking assurances to be a starter in his next team rather than sqd player...

Hope can wrap this deal by this week..

Certainly hope so, Can's versatility will be useful. 12m is a good deal for his potential too.

Lallana still no breakthrough on agreeing on price. I believe need Lallana to throw request to push through.

Never know but at least we started work early.

Lallana wants to join Pool so that's different from Salah, whom I think he said before he wants to join Man U or Chelsea. We are not going in last min like Kono for him too.

Still hopeful.

I had mention in the other Liverpool thread that FSG treats transfers in a very business perspective which is quite typical of Americans.

If they could loosen the purse strings abit, I believe a few deals could easily be sewn up by now. Good case is the Lallana move, if Pool offered abit more, it would be done esp as the player is keen on coming.

Whilst we'll never know the exact details, I heard diff on the Salah transfer.

Basle obviously allowed Che to sign him when they offered 11mil vs Pool 9/10mil. Salah I'm told doen't mind joining Pool esp as more chance for him to play compared to Che.

They got bitten badly and learnt the hard way during KD's time. No way they will let that ever happened again. Out of that £100m splash, only Hendo is paying dividend now.

Hence, the enforcement of cap.

Salah was capped at £10m and couldn't get Basel to agree on that price. Chelsea came with a £16m (£11m upfront and £5m addons) bid iirc. Not only that, they offered twice the salary to Salah.

In any case, I am ok to have that valuation cap. However, when selling clubs are unwilling to budge, we have to go on to the next target. Cannot hope that selling will agree near end of window to let go at our price.

That's true on moving on but me being typical fan, wish that owners can be more generous. Of course easy for me to say cos not my money haha!!!

BTW, you are 100% correct that Pool got bitten under KD. He was a great player but unfortunately can't say much about his Mgmt skills!

Lastly, maybe I'm sceptical and this may cause some controversy but u trust FSG? My concern is that they will be like the Glazers n previously G & H at the club. Once they got the project of developing the stadium, they'll mortgage the club or something like that. I'm abit prejudice against American owners that treat owning a club as purely a business venture.

Hope to be proven wrong on this!!!!

its ok to feel sceptical or very positive about FSG...

Lol, don't want to go into that again lah. My support towards FSG has people labelling me a brainwashed NK wor.

In gist, I trust them because they have track record - Boston Red Sox, they don't do leverage buy out - unlike H&G. They have a plan on how to run this football club and their objective is to return us back to glory days. Moneyball, young and forward thinking manager, increase gate receipt, leverage on global appeal. All these are in their plans.

Most importantly, they listen to the fans - no ground share, no leaving Anfield, no stadium naming rights.

I said it when they bought LFC and I will say it again. The club is heading in the right direction under FSG. They might not be a sugar daddy type of owner, but they have the know how and the desire to make this club a successful and self-sustainable sporting institution

Sorry bro, not been following what you said previously, so didn't mean to corner you on this issue but was curious since you big Pool supporter!

Actually, no one knows what owners agendas are so there will always be a risk. Think EPL has now imposed a "fit & proper" persons search for all potential owners before they can own a club but can that really tell?

I guess, like what u mentioned; it is precisely what the club feels about FSG having the know how etc that Peter Lim failed despite his bid being superior. He doesn't have the track record like FSG. We shall see!

BTW, your Thorgan Hazard rumour may come true afterall, U sure have good sources. He's a gem of a player and heard just as good as Eden!!

Hehe Peter Lim failed the fans' test. I will never ever trust a Man U supporter to run our club! :D

Thorgan I believe Chelsea won't be selling. If I am wrong, I don't think Jose will want to sell to us. So, I won't be overly excited over that one.

Looks like Can is happening.

Pool look decisive this time round. No headway with Kovacic (kind of expected) and they quickly move on to Can.

Kono is getting interest from Juventus I am told. So Pool might find it tough to bring this over the line. For some reason, Dnipro owner don't like Pool.

Shaqiri could be a fall back plan for Kono. Lallana deal still on.

I'd get Shaqiri over Kono, even more so if Shaqiri is cheaper...

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger given £100m transfer kitty after agreeing new three-year deal worth £22m

http://t.co/bNlFOlxOoA

U can give this guy all the money in this world and the miser in him will treat it like his own money and be counting the pennies!!

I don't expect him to spend more than 50mil and even then he'll be having sleepness nights haha!!!

Seriously though, Wenger has a principle on developing own talent. He feels very strongly on this. That's why he's making the most noise on kicking out City from UCL due to the breach of FFP! Whilst you can admire him for sticking to his guns, money talks and is helpful to get players! If he doesn't want to spend then that is his perogative but he shouldn't be begrudging other teams that want to spend $.

Don't you think it isn't a coincidence that after finally spending 42mil on Ozil that the elusive trophy finally comes?

Promoted Leicester City have agreed a four-year deal with Kasper Schmeichel - making him the highest paid player in the clubs history.
